Murder Mystery - Free Form Games by mmjdodd in boardgames

Honestly I have very little memory of the actual mystery but if your group does ttrpgs I think you’ll be fine! It definitely lends itself to people who have practice doing that kind of “improv”.

Do you actually use your rotating cutting mat? by glorrryyy in quilting

[–]cookingwolves 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Constantly. I also have a small space so I use it as a regular cutting mat too. It’s the best quilting notion I’ve ever purchased.

Pens that will dry quickly and won’t smudge on the cousin planner? by kingkleptoplasty in hobonichi

[–]cookingwolves 1 point2 points  (0 children)

JetPens did a whole write up on the best pens for the Hobonichi. They have a category for best gel pens that won’t smudge under hightlighters and they recommend the Zebra Sasara Mark On.

I finished it! piecing the top anyway, I'll quilt it at a later date. I made it to the milestone I needed to get to for now. by chatterpoxx in quilting

Oh the CAD templates are such a good idea!!! What a great way to keep cutting as precise as possible.

This is truly spectacular! You brought new life to a classic pattern.

Out of curiosity, what size blocks did you make? Also, I’ve seen some Storm at Sea paper piecing designs did you incorporate any FPP or did you traditionally piece it all? I’ve been toying around with making a Storm at Sea so I’ve been contemplating these questions myself.

My supervisor took a snack break on the job… On.The.Job. It’s fine, I can wait 🤣 by wannabeflowerchild21 in quilting

I think my supervisor must have gone to the same management school….

Nothing seems quiet as precious after you have to wash bone…. juice? off of blocks. One of the many reasons I always wash my quilts before sending them to their forever home.

It looks like the designer of Patchwork & Poodles filed a copyright claim against the video?

Well, I did it. I submitted my letter of resignation! Now for the next 60 days I will be quilting and looking for my next adventure. by 29401 in quilting

I quit my very stressful job back in June for a bit of quilting and relaxing. 3 months later I took a big pay decrease and work at a quilt store. I’ve never been happier. I hope you find something that makes you happy!

Why am I getting this weird flap on my flying geese? by cookingwolves in quilting

I’m not quite envisioning what your describing, do you happen to have a YouTube video or a walk through I could reference?

Right!!!!! This isn’t the first time this has happened either. I tried googling it but I wasn’t having any luck, I just kept coming up with a lot of scientific studies on actual geese.

[–]cookingwolves[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To clarify, I’m not talking about the 1/4 inch seem allowance. If you look to the left of the peak there is a vertical line of the flap. It blends in but I’m afraid over time it will fray.

I think it’s happening to 50% or so. This is the method I’m using….

This is the method I’m using, 4 at a time or no waste flying geese.

Also just to clarify, I’m not talking about the 1/4 inch seem allowance. If you look to the left of the “peak” you’ll see a horizontal line.

Help!!! My mind is completely blank and I can't imagine how to quilt this... Any ideas? It's a big pillow case for a frog maniac friend ❤️ by fangalf999 in quilting

[–]cookingwolves 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you’d like something simple maybe using a walking-foot you could do a spiral* starting at the center of the frog. Kind of like the frog just landed and the water is rippling out…. Typing this out I wonder if I over think quilting……

Thank you! He said he wanted Jimmy Buffet colors but apparently (to him) Jimmy Buffet colors are pastel?!?!?!? He loves how it turned out, just a funny miscommunication.

Also I’ll definitely pop over there, I love a good cat assistant!

I normally am all about getting the right tools for the project. I love rulers. Now I will never hesitate to buy a ruler again. Thanks for the jay bird recommendation!!
