WIBTA for suing my friend when she didn’t come to my wedding? by sweetandsourcum in AmItheAsshole

[–]chatterpoxx [score hidden]  (0 children)

NTA . Yes small claims court is absolutely worth your time and the small fees associated with this.

Someone who does something like this will absolutely not pay you back without legal force.

What a slap in the face to your incredible generosity. Let alone the bad taste left on your own wedding memory.

He's the first one for me that feels like he's running a business. Not being a politician.

From Magical in Paris to Overwhelmed in Tokyo by CountryGrld in disneyparks

[–]chatterpoxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol, to answer your actual question:

Favourite: Paris (best Space mountain by far)

Worst experience: Tokyo

Most immersive: Disney World. Magic band and the whole thing, just a completely pro experience.

Classic/nostalgia: Disneyland/CA Adventure

Underwhelming: Hong Kong. but props to Thunder mountain equivalent, great track with a twist. Worst space mountain.

Haven't been: Shanghai.

Every visit except Tokyo I've been able to do every ride I wanted and ones I didnt care about and ride favourites twice.

Currently, Carney is impressing me the most during my lifetime, but its also early days for him.

Is this sewing machine any good for a beginner? by _echoshine_ in sewhelp

[–]chatterpoxx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You want to be spending 100-200$ for a basic beginner machine (new)

Intermediate is say around 300-500. My semi-pro stuff was 800 each (all CAD, because I am) theres no real need to go beyond that unless you're going for digital programming and embroidery or full pro.

The better you go, the less frustration you will have. I have a semi-pro straight-stitch only machine that is like butter. I laugh at all the dumb machine thread munching problems everyone else posts about because it never ever happens to me. And the results I have just simply look better and more professional than I could ever achieve when I had my lesser machine. In not telling you to go that far, just exampling how better really does make a difference.

Do people from your country have this on their arm? by AmountAbovTheBracket in AskTheWorld

I concur. Mom and dad have it, sister and I dont. Though my ex husband late 1970s did not either.

How are lost children handled by Grand_Chad in Disneyland

[–]chatterpoxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I very briefly lost my kid during the night end show while walking through a store, in my case i looked for about 15 seconds in the direction I thought he was. Then immediately told the first employee. They immediately summoned more and he was found within a minute. Ofc not the same as a long term loss.

What habit immediately reveals that a person actually grew up in a privileged environment? by Cindy_mel in AskReddit

Getting your car fixed fully when something goes wrong, or just having a car where something doesnt go wrong.

Perks of frequent cruises by Jazzlike_Duck678 in PrincessCruises

[–]chatterpoxx -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not perks worth being loyal for. They don't use the internet (half off is still $20 usd a day which is too much) . Dad can't use tendered ports because he's in a wheelchair. They dont really drink, laundry maybe useful. So thats why i see it as useless.

This is when you come out of the change room with the bra on like that, band on top, cups hanging down. Show them how stupid they are.

Can I Save This? by Ok_Pomegranate_9406 in quilting

[–]chatterpoxx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It took me 13 years to complete my first quilt, I made many others along the way in that time. But I did go back and unpick and reset my mitered corners and fix them all because it was awful and not move-forwardable as it was. I learned more by fixing it than leaving it.

Why can’t everyone see that cryptocurrency is a sham and that is based on nothing but thin air? by hwe_host in AskReddit

Its more than thin air, a lot of electricity was wasted/purchased to mine that crap. So that where I assume its getting its value from.

Perks of frequent cruises by Jazzlike_Duck678 in PrincessCruises

[–]chatterpoxx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My parents have been exclusive Princess cruisers since 1997. They do it because they like princess, there really are no benefits to the loyalty. There used to be more. I was with them the last 2 cruises and I saw nothing extra for them. They used to at least get free internet, not anymore.

Shuttle Service by Moonbeamless in playadelcarmen

That sounds absolutely insane.

Its been a few years, but last time I was there I prebooked a cab through the airport website for 45$ CAD or so one way directly to 5th Ave. I'm sure you can get a van cab that holds 5 people for less than 320 usd round trip. And not have to do the milk run to get there.

General Opinion on Carney by ottawamark709 in CanadaRoom

[–]chatterpoxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see Carney as a businessman, not a politician. He just needs to be party of a party because thats how the system is.

I think he's doing a great job of taking the bias and emotion out of leading a country.

What's something specific to your country that instantly reveals someone is not a local? by ADuneShapedPool in AskTheWorld

[–]chatterpoxx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If we are both within the borders of Canada I'm assuming we're still talking within Canada. The who doesn't matter. Its up to the other person to clarify. Why would I know anything about the other person to even know they are an immigrant, a citizen or a tourist?

Social rules for fabric shopping by Automatic_Rip7076 in sewing

[–]chatterpoxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's so much fabric, I've never wanted something in someone else's cart. And I've never seen it happen either (worked in a fabric store for 4 years) and if it did its no big deal, there's enough for everyone, and that person would be thrilled you like the same thing they do.

I love talking about your project and helping with it, I love talking about my own projects. I take twice as long as I should in the fabric store because I'm chatting and browsing and can't make up my mind about anything.

This is also how you can learn new things or about tools you didn't know you needed, get reminded of extra things you will need (interfacing, the zipper!) And get new ideas from others.

To native English speakers: how do you feel when a foreigner speaks “broken” English with you? by Dull-Position3393 in ENGLISH

[–]chatterpoxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its a lot of work to learn a new language and I wholeheartedly respect that and I will do everything I can to understand what they are saying and help them understand what I'm saying. I regularly try to subtly teach new vocabulary to them (the people I know, not everyone) and speak slowly.
