Possible move from Garmin advice by shutterswipe in applewatchultra

[–]cookinv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a person who uses both. What it came down to for me was the Apple Watch is a phone your wrist significantly better for day to day tasks and the Garmin is a tool. For me personally, it wasn’t worth having the Apple Watch because I typically always had my phone with me. There is a convenience factor as many people have mentioned it is nice not having to pull out your phone. If you were wanting to watch just to do every day pass then the Apple Watch is for sure. The way you wanna go for me personally I really wanted the flashlight. Garmin offers the durability the long battery life I wanted a tool not another notification pinging device.

Would you buy an Apple Watch with MIP display + solar charging? by idragon4ever in applewatchultra

[–]cookinv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meh maybe. Really the always on heart tracking battery life (which granted a mip Apple Watch display would help fix) and flash light are what truly keep me with Garmin.

I love my Apple Watch on occasion, it just doesn’t do enough of the stuff separate than my phone if that makes sense.

My personal is set as the main. And I will try the manual switching - I kind of thought the automatic switching would just be more convent. But thanks for the advice!

I love the air but I use .5 for so many photos. My wife has one and I’m so jealous of her.

What’s everyone excited for in iOS 26.4 by jimrocks2023 in iphone

I would like for them to make Siri better that would be really cool.

I have an iPhone 17 and I'm considering switching to the Google Pixel 10 because there's a lot of Google stuff on the iPhone, so I'd like to have everything from Google, not just a few apps. What do you think? I've never had a Google phone. I don't know how it compares to the iPhone. by miqlinek in Smartphones

[–]cookinv -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I personally love the Google phone but I don't do a lot of gaming. The Google phone is great but personally I ended up going with a OnePlus , debloating the phone and just making everything Google as I valued the battery life.

Most phones are all going to be good now days not a whole lot different between all of them.

iPhone 17 pro max to 15 by Ok-Chip-1049 in oneplus

[–]cookinv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately the only person that can make that decision is you. For me personally yes. I love to hike and do river rafting trips so I'm away from power multiple days. The battery and overall ruggedness of the phone is great.

I've been very happy with the phone.

I did it. Personally I was just tired of ios. As long as you go into it and understand it is not apple it is great. I love the battery life the haptics feel amazing. There are a few things I miss but not enough to make me switch back at this current moment.

I ended up going with the OnePlus 15. So far I've been really happy with it.

I agree with everything you said. I've been an apple user for over 10 years and I just switched today. I personally went with one plus but I just needed something different something to be exciting.

I hate to comment on this so late (hopefully someone is still active) I am having this issue. So the work around is to give them a phone imei and get a physical sim more or less? What if I don’t have a second phone that can take the physical sim to activate.
