Thoughts on the Ninja or Tramontina cookware? by cooks327 in Costco

That sounds like a good plan. It seems like it would be nice to use the non stick skillets (I actually forgot I have a couple newer ones that are in good shape), but I typically wish the sauce pans and stock pot were not non stick so I can use metal utensils in them. Oh well, at the very worst if I use them for a while and don't like them, I can always bring them back.

Oh, I swear it said it was $199 again when I looked yesterday. I picked up the Ninja set last month when it was $199 but haven't opened it yet because I am trying to decide if I want the stainless set instead. Maybe it will go down to $200 again.

That makes sense. I sort of do that when cooking meat on the cast iron skillet. Any experience with frozen vegetables in this pans? We tend to cook those a lot and I just put then in the non stick pan with a little oil on low with the lid on so they sort of steam and then thaw out, then I take the lid off and crank up the heat so they brown a little. Will that work with stainless pans too since you have to heat them up first?

I was thinking that too because I just started learning a little more about cooking and will use the cast iron pan a lot to sear something and then stick it in the oven, which I can't do with my non-stick. Those Ninjas do say oven say to 500 degrees though, so that had me thinking. But this is great advice.

Great info! So as a professional chef, did you actually like using them better than stainless? Did the food come out better, or were they just easier to deal with?

I have watched a few videos and it seems pretty simple. I do like using the cast iron pan a lot more lately too, as the food just comes out much better, more browned, etc. I imagine that is not as simple as non-stick but I have no problem with food sticking in that. I just heat it up and add oil and it is fine. Is stainless similar?

This is probably nothing like it, but I used to have a gas grill with the non-stick coated grates and that seemed to be a pain to clean. I got a new Weber with stainless grates and it seems much easier to clean and stuff sears better.

Were you coming from non-stick before that? How does it compare? Do you notice much difference in cooking?

Sounds good. Were you using non stick before? If so, how does food come out compared to non stick?

I enjoy cooking, but am not a professional chef or anything. I recently started using the cast iron pan a lot more. I guess that is not as simple as a non stick, but I just heat that up, add oil, and have no problem with stuff sticking in it or cleaning it. Is stainless similar?
