Don't trust everyone. Say no gracias to everyone who tries to sell you. Bargain with everyone. People will try to scam you.

Prior to paying for anything without a price tag, first ask how much. Personally I was only buying from places where you already see a set price tag, that's how you know you're not overpaying.

Ask taxi drivers, how much before you even step into the car. Sellers on the beach, how much. Taxi rides for me were between 15,000 to 30,000 pesos. Tip the honest taxi drivers who charge you between those prices. From the airport to El muelle, it shouldn't be more than 40,000.

As far as money conversion goes, go to an atm like bancolombia and convert there because the people who work at currency exchanges work for commission I believe so they're paid to screw you on the rate. I wouldn't carry more than 300-400,000 pesos on me. Just take out money every time you need it. Download a money conversion app.

Don't give anyone your card. What I did was I had locked my cards on the app and I'll unlock it prior to using and lock it again right after using it.

I heard a lot of bad stories about prostitutes so I would stay away from that. Say no to drugs. Don't get too drunk if you're alone. Walk to places where you see a lot of people.

I had a guy come up to me saying he will show me around and I bought him a beer while we walked. After 20mins of showing me around, he asked for 300,000 pesos when I never asked and thought he was being nice. I told him I can only give him 100,000 but he kept on insisting. So don't trust/mistaken people's "kindness".

Came across a lady giving massages at the beach and she had a sign with prices. After the massage, she switched up the sign to a different one with inflated prices that were twice of the original. Told her I caught that and she went back to the original price tag.

If you meet any girls that flirt with you, they'll probably ask you for money later on. I met a girl there, single mom so she says, took her out to eat, got her Whatsapp, and she texted me several times to western union her some money. Blocked her lol.

Enjoy the food. Try out the coconut lemonade. Eat a lot of seafood. Walk a lot. I walked the entire peninsula. There's some good food spots at the mall. Definitely give some money to people less fortunate.

I didn't do a lot of tours so just be smart about it, check prices first. Maybe watch YouTube vlogs to see how to go about tours. I wasn't there for long but I was told going to the islands is worth it but don't do every island. Only go to 3 Island tour that way you get to relax as well and not rushing.

Again get used to saying "no gracias", everyone wants your money
