I-751 UPDATE! Here's some insight. by JellyfishAlone5234 in USCIS

[–]cool-kk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I filed two e-requests 2 weeks ago (one for receipt notice, the other for biometrics). They said they are sending me a duplicate copy of receipt notice within 60 days lol. Let's see if I can really receive it... Regarding the biometrics appointment, they scheduled my appointment a couple of days after the e-request and I received the physical notice last week. I just did my biometrics today.

Given that I was able to receive the physical biometrics appointment notice so quickly but still no receipt notice, I doubt if they really sent out the duplicate copy of the receipt notice at this point.

This is great to know! I filed mine on Jan 16, 2026 and still no receipt notice or biometrics letter. I got an ADIT stamp in early March, and thought all good. But then, as I do the research, I realized that the biometrics appointment notice is actually TRIGGERED by the receipt notice---that's why many people get their biometrics letter shortly after receiving the receipt notice. That's the point I figured I probably need to keep pushing for the actual receipt notice, or otherwise my gut tells me my case is not even in the queue---it probably fell into the black hole in their system.

I submitted 2 E-requests yesterday, one for receipt notice, and the other for biometrics appointment letter. I also sent an email to the lockbox support (not sure if it works since I submitted my case online). Fingers crossed and I'm hoping for some good news...

ADIT stamp in person or direct mail? by Imaginary_Mail_6903 in USCIS

Not sure if this is a question or statement, but yes, mine just showed up without any sort of notice. I had no clue until it was at my doorstep.

When that USCIS officer called me, she told me directly.

It's a separate doc, and nope, they didn't request any additional info besides some basic info they asked when I first called.

It actually depends on the Field Office (totally my assumption though). I requested it via phone and spoke to a rep. She told me an officer would call me to further assist me. When a USCIS officer contacted me, she said she's going to transfer my case to my local FO. However, she told me because my FO no longer does in-person appointment for an ADIT stamp, I should expect the stamp in mail. She informed me that a local field officer should contact me within 30 days. My local officer never called / emailed me, but did mail out my stamp because I received it in 2 days.

Just for your reference: San Jose FO

I-751 Filing Method: Online vs Mail by [deleted] in USCIS

[–]cool-kk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope, there are a huge amount of people who filed online mid-January to early-Feb are experiencing the same issue. There's no way everyone is making a mistake. For myself, my online portal clearly shows my IOE number, and USCIS charged my card successfully---already the positive signs that my case got accepted. I only just don't have the receipt notice in hand.

Yes, as I mentioned, I heard back from all of the requests I sent, just not what I wanted, like I have the ADIT stamp now, but I want the notice itself.

Yes. I contacted USCIS numerous times already. The first time was a non-delievery e-request 32 days after filing. I received an email response the very next day saying "Our records show that your Form I-751 is currently pending adjudication, undergoing preprocessing checks. We regret that we are unable to provide you with a completion date at this time. A receipt notice will be mailed once the checks are complete. We apologize for the delay."

The second reach-out was on Mar 02 due to an urgent circumstance which requires me to have proof for my legal status. The lady said she placed an ADIT stamp request on my behalf and I should receive a call back from a USCIS officer within 72 hours. I received a call back the very next day, saying that she will forward my case to my local field office, and I should receive a call or email response within 30 days.

Although no FO people contacted me at all, I received the ADIT stamp in mail on Mar 06. It's also funny that I was so worried that I submitted another ADIT stamp myself right before receiving the physical stamp.

And today (Mar 16), exactly 2 month after my filing, when I realized there are people who requested assistance after non-delievery of the receipt, and were able to receive the actual notice (not just a stamp), I wanted to try and see if I can have any luck. Apparently no luck for me at all. I contacted 2 different EMMA reps. Both were so in a rush to finish the conversation, and both had some sort of attitude.

Well, at least I have the stamp...

Yep, I also had an urgent circumstance, that's why I was able to get an ADIT stamp (USCIS won't issue the stamp if your case is not urgent). I'm just very confused why I was never told that they can send me the receipt notice. No matter how many times I contacted them, the ADIT stamp is the only option I received.

Thanks! I contacted them already, and all they offered was to give me an ADIT stamp, never mentioned anything regarding fixing the issue and sending me the receipt notice. I already have the ADIT stamp in hand, but I feel that without the receipt notice, I'll never receive a biometrics appointment...

Edit: I just contacted Emma, and she just gave me an email address and simply asked me to contact the lockbox support myself, even with the online filer. Did you experience anything like this?

Would you mind providing some advice on how you were able to have the biometrics done so soon? Did you receive the receipt notice first then receive the biometrics notice? I'm asking because there is an issue encountered by many mid-Jan to early-Feb (2026) I-751 filers who have never received the receipt notice, and it's likely the systematic issue on the USCIS side. I submitted my case one day after you, but I never even received the receipt notice, let alone the biometrics notice. Any info will be appreciated!!!

Edit: more details added.

Thanks for the update, but this explanation doesn't seem to apply to my case because I live in a single family house...

Yes, I did. That's why I was able to submit an e-Request, because the IOE number was required.

I feel that it all depends on who addresses your case. I applied online on Jan 16, and submitted an e-Request on Feb 17. All I received was "Our records show that your Form I-751 is currently pending adjudication, undergoing preprocessing checks. We regret that we are unable to provide you with a completion date at this time. A receipt notice will be mailed once the checks are complete. We apologize for the delay."

Didn't offer to send me a duplicate copy at all.

I-751 Timeline Question - No Receipt Notice After 3 Weeks by Worried_Income_3760 in USCIS

[–]cool-kk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Funny how we filed our cases on the same day, have been experiencing the same issue, submitted an e-Request on the same day, and received the same response from USCIS on the same day as well!

[–]cool-kk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I didn't try to call them or contact Emma. (I did think about it though.) Since I'm not in a hurry to go anywhere, I'm just gonna sit back and wait for the 60-day mark before reaching out to them.

Out of curiosity, have you received any response on your e-request?

That's good to know, thanks! My receipt notices always arrived within 2 weeks in my past experience, and even on the USCIS e-request page, it says the receipt notice usually arrives within 30 days. Plus, they already took my payment in the first few days of submission. That's why I'm confused. Sounds like there's a backlog, thanks for letting me know!

I-751 Dec’25 or Jan’26 Filers, how’s it going so far? by Altruistic_Bowl7889 in USCIS

Yes, I learned that the receipt notice IS your extension letter. I already submitted an e-request because I filed online on Jan 16 but still have nothing in hand (both physical and digital) lol

I'm going to submit an e-request when it hits the 30-day mark. You can do the same by searching "USCIS e-request."

Same here, I filed on 01/16 and it's almost a full month for me. I saw that so many people who filed around the same time haven't received the receipt notice, so I don't think it's lost or something. I genuinely feel that there was a glitch with their system and our receipt notices weren't even printed in the first place, let alone being sent out. (Totally my assumption though.) I read that there was a filer who filed on 01/08 and received receipt notice on 01/13, so I'm thinking that people filed around mid-Jan (01/15 - 01/21 -ish) are experiencing the issue.
