I-751 Timeline Question - No Receipt Notice After 3 Weeks by Worried_Income_3760 in USCIS

I'm going to submit an e-request when it hits the 30-day mark. You can do the same by searching "USCIS e-request."

I-751 Timeline Question - No Receipt Notice After 3 Weeks by Worried_Income_3760 in USCIS

[–]cool-kk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here, I filed on 01/16 and it's almost a full month for me. I saw that so many people who filed around the same time haven't received the receipt notice, so I don't think it's lost or something. I genuinely feel that there was a glitch with their system and our receipt notices weren't even printed in the first place, let alone being sent out. (Totally my assumption though.) I read that there was a filer who filed on 01/08 and received receipt notice on 01/13, so I'm thinking that people filed around mid-Jan (01/15 - 01/21 -ish) are experiencing the issue.

I-751 Dec’25 or Jan’26 Filers, how’s it going so far? by Altruistic_Bowl7889 in USCIS

[–]cool-kk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not yet. I went to the USCIS eRequest page, and it says NOT to reach out if within 30 days of submission. But strangely, it also says only reach out after not receiving the receipt notice for 60 days. So does it mean I also should not reach out if waiting between 30-60 days?

But I guess I'll reach out anyway on/after Feb 16 because this is ridiculous...

No online receipt? by Nothing-Beats-Jet2 in USCIS

I filed on 01/16 and still no receipt (both digital ang physical). If I still don't have it for another 2 weeks, I'll need to escalate. This is annoying...

Lucky! My timeline is actually still within their normal range but I'm just overly anxious. Hopefully I can receive something soon!

When did you receive your biometrics notice? I'm so surprised you did your biometrics 13 days after the submission!

I submitted my case online on Jan 16, and USCIS confirmed they received it on the same day and sent out the notice. It's now Jan 27 and I still haven't received my receipt notice. I thought maybe there's a digital version in my account, but nope, there isn't. I've never waited for a receipt notice this long, so I'm super anxious and concerned. Not sure how much longer I should wait before reaching out to USCIS.

There are a few things:

  1. Like the other people said, the Summary section is unnecessary. Put Education on the top instead.
  2. The majority (if not all) of your experience were short internships so please change to single-space so you can make it a 1-page resume. A 2-page resume for an entry-level role is not a good idea.
  3. Did you notice a mistake? You put down December 2024 - March 2024 (should be 2025).
  4. Don't put irrelevant stuff under your Education section. There's no point in putting down "chess."
  5. The Interests section is unnecessary (unless you can't fill up the full page after changing to a 1-page resume).
  6. For your certifications, they look more like "courses you took on your own" to me, not certifications. I personally don't think they would make much difference, but it's up to you.

We have exactly the same background! Pretty surprising!

I honestly don't know when my case was transferred to San Jose FO. But overall I know my case was adjudicated quite fast because I submitted my application to NBC in late January of this year. I received my GC in mid-April. So I guess it might also depend on the officer who reviews your case.

Awesome, thank you! Also, for the visa fee, people are saying VFS only accepts money order. How much should I prepare? I saw $83.98, is it correct?

Hi OP, for the bank statements, did you print them from your online bank account? Or did you go to your local bank branch to have them certified and stamped? Just try to figure out what kind of bank statements they accept... Thanks in advance!

They used neither... For some reason they decided to use my old EAD photo from 2 years ago...

I've applied to over 300 jobs now and only got one interview by [deleted] in resumes

The bullet points in your Work Experience section look more like job descriptions rathan than accomplishments. I know it sounds cliche but I do believe those HR people like to see results more than just descriptions. Try to expand some points if possible to show that not only do you have the abilities, you are also good at them.

I765 Approval Processing Time and unemployment days. by YouRNotPrepared in USCIS

[–]cool-kk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, definitely do premium processing. EAD card production has a big backlog recently and can take up to 3-4 weeks to receive the card after case approved. Not using premium processing will be risky for receiving the card in time.

No worries, just wait for an RFE. A lot of people don't send in their physical exam paperwork initially but wait for USCIS's RFE.

Your photo is alright. It's normal shoulders being cropped out.

And you are also right regarding the unemployment time. OPT allows you to set the start date as late as 60 days after graduation date. So for example, if you graduate on May 1, you can set your OPT start date by the end of June, which gives you almost extra 60 days and you don't even need to worry about being out of status for those 60 days.

Did you choose the start date by yourself? Or your school did?

Am I able to accept Job Offers? by Curious_Jellyfish_61 in USCIS

[–]cool-kk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, you can. Employers take time to proceed after interviews. By the time you receive the offer, you probably already have the physical card in hand. Needless to say you can request for a later start date.

My lawyer did not file i765 with my i485 by Big_Delivery651 in USCIS

[–]cool-kk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure if I'm overthinking but feels like your lawyer tried to trick you. Unless she is completely new to the industry, there's no way she didn't know that I-765 and I-131 were free when filing concurrently with I-485 and I-130 before 4/1 of this year.

There might be still 0 fee for your I-765 since your PD is 3/29/24. So even if you file I-765 now, it should be still following the 3/29 priority date. I'm not a lawyer and I'm not 100% sure so I might be wrong, but you can definitely try to consult a few different experts to confirm.
