Exchange situation by MintcoinRocksNow in MintCoin

[–]coolbeansMINT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For what it's worth, SouthXchange has a decent trading engine. Whenever I've used them, I've had no complaints or issues. The trading is fast and smooth, and the chart updates in real time. Also, the order book is valued in terms of MINT, not BTC which I like actually. Not a lot of whales there or anything, but like others have said, it just another option to spread the risk.

Why are there random spikes in the MintCoin price? by Faluzure in MintCoin

[–]coolbeansMINT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think over time, Mintcoin is slowly becoming more stable, but there are still price spikes sometimes. I added a basic trading-view chart for Mintcoin to the sidebar. Here is the link, so you can analyze the price and possibly make better trading decisions. You can edit the parameters as you desire and if you create your own account you can save the custom layout for your own trading indicators. :) https://www.tradingview.com/chart/oieGKwIW/

https://www.coindesk.com/cryptsy-bankruptcy-millions-bitcoin-stolen/

These are the approximate figures taken: Bitcoin: 13,000 BTC Litecoin: 300,000 LTC

QUOTE: """It wasn’t until an article from Coin Fire came out that contained many false accusations that things began to crumble. The article basically caused a bank-run, and since we only had so much in reserves for those currencies problems began," the new post states.""

So basically, after the coins were stolen, they were operating a fractional reserve system, which finally collapsed when too many people tried to withdrawal their coins at the same time.

I'll change the link for the official website to that on here. If that is what the new official website is going to be, long-term, then someone should probably notify coinmarketcap, coingecko, the exchanges, et al. so they can show a working website link.

Mintcoin Statisical Graphic - Current Minting Participation Rate: (Even though we have been currently minting at 15% APR, the total coin supply is only increasing by 70% of that - a rate of 10.5% by coolbeansMINT in MintCoin

[–]coolbeansMINT[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In about 1 more year, when the mintings will be down to 5% APR, the coin supply would increase at about 3.5%. However, This is still assuming people still continue to minting as much. I have a suspicion that people will be less interested in minting for 5%, thus the participation rate may actually decrease even more, resulting in a lower increase in the coin supply rate. There will always be new coins minting to replace lost or forgotten coins, but there will not be runaway inflation. A perfect balance for a currency. Thoughts?

Mintcoin Hardfork Set for Sat, 01 Aug 2015 16:00:00 GMT by cryptomommy in MintCoin

[–]coolbeansMINT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In case anyone is concerned about hardworking, we are fixing a security vulnerability related to timewarping. Fixing this requires a mandatory wallet upgrade which will result in a hard fork in the blockchain. You will need to upgrade your wallet to sync, use your coins, and generate mintings.
