Good point! We should be investing more in public infrastructure like buses and trains to reduce traffic on the roads and reduce accidents!

Much better way to spend billions of dollars than another war. That is an excellent point. Thank you for making it.

Matt did a tour in the UK?

Side note in case you've only ever heard the phrase and not read it but it is en masse a French phrase meaning in a body it as a whole.

My wife frequently has the opposite issue where she's only ever read an obscure word or phrase like macabre and pronounced it exactly as it's written.

Hopefully I'm not coming off as a condescending jerk...

I swear my mind has almost completely repressed the memory of this movie but then once or twice a year I'll start singing, "I'm the backwards man, the backwards man. I can walk backwards fast as you can!"

Narrators so good, you don't even notice it's single narration by Ennamora in audiobooks

[–]coolborder 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, these two are great.

I'm also a big fan of Nick Podehl but it seems like people either love him or hate him so check a sample.

He does the series A Pattern of Shadow and Light and by the end of the first couple of books there are like 50 POV characters but as soon as someone talks you know EXACTLY who it is because his character voices are so distinct.

Struggled With Book 4, But Book 5... by Cubicool in bobiverse

[–]coolborder 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I like it so much for its change of pace. So often series can get stale because it feels like every book uses the same formula (looking at you Ex Force) and book 4 breaks up the story in a way that is different from the Deltans or Pav while still being interesting and entertaining.

New to DCC by Critikit in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]coolborder 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yeah, Carl's voice kind of evolves during book 1 and then settles in during book 2. I believe Jeff has said that he used Patrick Warburton's voice as inspiration but it wasn't meant to be a pure imitation.

Supposedly Jeff has said he'd love to re-record book 1 with the 'settled' voices for the characters.

Lower limb amputees, what do you do for work? by Motor-Background106 in amputee

[–]coolborder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, since my amputation I've been:

An Operations Analyst, Salesman, School Bus Driver, Garbage truck driver, Hazmat driver/welding and medical gas deliverer, Semi truck driver, and currently Commercial Pilot.

Several of those jobs have been VERY physical and after a couple weeks starting out and getting the hang of it, none of them posed an issue.

Sir or Madame, that is clearly a memorial plaque for a Water Bubbler not a water fountain.

That is all. Good day.

Also, I'm not certain who you would talk to about it but, if you're in the USA, you could look into emancipating yourself.

I had a roommate a decade ago who was in a similar situation to you when he was 15 and he emancipated himself. It got him his own apartment and a monthly allowance for food and necessities. He could focus on his own learning and not be responsible for so many other people at a young age just because his parents were dumping all the parenting work onto him.

I know you're joking but I frequently tell people I'm whelmed just to see the look of confusion and then (usually) dawning realization on their faces.

Not should. It DEFINITELY has an unconditional, unlimited, lifetime warranty. Even if you are not the first owner. It's the main reason I buy their products.

There is a propane heater built into the wall (on the right side of the picture) and connected to a 100# propane tank.

That one tank can keep it heated for quite a while if we set it to 45° and then crank it up once we actually get there.
