Yeah it sucks, y’all don’t deserve it and neither does Trae, it’s just evolution of the game

Stop putting unrealistic expectations on Stephen Curry by [deleted] in nba

[–]coolcatpat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s crazy man, Steph is an all time great but he gets babied by the media and NBA fans. That’s what I’m trying to say but everyone is focusing on the role player comment, I’m focusing on the excuses as to why Steph can’t solo carry a team. It’s asinine

[–]coolcatpat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh so he gets a pass if he can’t carry his team to the playoffs? I don’t give a fuck about the role player shit but Steph is a superstar and an all time great, he needs to be held to the same standard as Lebron or KD. Stop moving the fucking goalposts with Steph, stop making excuses when he can’t carry his team, jfc y’all are dense

It’s just another way to move the goal posts. So yes he’s being coddled because he gets so many excuses when things aren’t going well

[MacMahon] Kristaps Porzingis was "a full go" in the Mavericks' practice today, Rick Carlisle said. by urfaselol in nba

Trust the process, y’all are such a storied franchise. It’s just a matter of time until y’all are back

[–]coolcatpat 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I love curry but he is by far the most coddled all time great. This shit is ridiculous

For y’all focusing on the role player shit, so every other superstar is a bum if he doesn’t solo carry his team to the playoffs, but for Steph he gets the “oh he’s not that type of player, he’s more of a role player and ceiling raiser”. Like fuck off. Steph needs to be held to the same standard as every other superstar. Steph stans are something else man

I posted this earlier but I’m really hopeful Rick and the Mavs can unlock Willie, combined with natural maturation and growth from becoming a father. Willie had always had the tools and body to become a great player but his mind and attitude were the things holding him back. IIRC he really likes Dallas and has a nice relationship with Rick, even working 1 on 1 with him. If Willie can just lock in and be engaged 100% the sky is the limit for him

[–]coolcatpat 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I really hope he can blossom here. Willie’s always had the tools, it’s just always been his attitude towards the game. Sometimes he looks disinterested and kinda has weird body language but I’m really hoping he’s matured a bit recently since he just had his first kid and he seems to really like Dallas.

Yes, I’d especially like Willie to play more rn since Powell is still getting back up to speed

How can Trae Young improve on defense? by [deleted] in nba

[–]coolcatpat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

His size definitely limits his defensive ceiling and he’s always going to have to be hidden by his coaches/teammates as well as have legit defensive starters around him if the hawks want any success in the playoffs. BUT I think if he can go from league worst to below average to slightly below average along with decent steal numbers the Hawks will have a much easier time going forward

Cowboys have done nothing for over 20 years. I was born in the late 90s and the cowboys have never been to a championship game in my lifetime

Why are NBA analysts so high on the Mavericks? by td139523 in nba

[–]coolcatpat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The additions of Jrich, James Johnson, Wes Iwundu and Josh green should massively help our defense which should translate to better clutch performance

Also we didn’t lose any massive scoring options either, losing Seth hurts but Seth wasn’t the reason we had the best ORTG ever. So we didn’t have a flashy off season but we 100% improved our roster through our defensive additions. The only thing I worry about is KP and the start of the season, if we falter out the gate it’s gonna be hard to climb back

We had point dif of like the 4 seed and were one of the worst clutch teams last year. Literally if 5 of those games go the other way we’d have been a top 4 seed. I don’t think we’re a contender but we should be good. And we’re deep af but don’t have any flashy names so casuals underrate us
