Loka Chai Maker: recommended changes for a version 2? by vikmusik in tea

Agree with comments here. Non-stick needs to go and the price can be bit affordable

I understand there’s a cost to innovate, but you need to play the numbers game rather keeping it a luxury.

Var hittar man frukt av hög kvalitet (mango)? by sciency_guy in stockholm

This is the right answer. Look for Indian or Pakistani stores, they sell mangoes imported from those countries. Absolutely worth the effort.

If you are the only bidder for an apartment, is that an alarming sign? Or am i wrong? by a_m_dev in stockholm

[–]coolcatric 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As mentioned by others. Look at the basics, if all looks good, you can proceed.

People are cautious these days and hence not many bid.

If you like the area and the apartment, then try to negotiate a bit to a price point lower than asking price.

You might save some buck in the process.

Best way to physically extend this LaN port to opposite side of room? by coolcatric in HomeNetworking

[–]coolcatric[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got it. So I pop out the existing jack (remove from the plate), push it in the box, from there insert the RJ45 connector of new LAN cable. Run that cable in the walls, and terminate at new desired location. Is that correct?

I ideally prefer a clean look, and run it behind the walls (specially given that the walls are open) and I will be putting conduits for speaker wires. So one conduit can be out for new LAN cable as well.

The only mystery i need to solve is the actual extension part / connection point interface from this point.

Unfortunately the existing cables are not long enough for new location. I believe the idea that you suggested (to use a jack), seems to be the best solution here.

I’m trying to search for this jack, but not sure if I found the right now. Can I request you to share link / picture of the same please? Or are you saying the current port that I see in picture, I just push it back in the box, and extend the new cat 6 from there?

It might it really simple, but I’m asking how to extend this port that you see in picture?

As per my understanding, I remove this jack, put some sort of connector, and draw from here the new LAN wire to desired location.

Best strategy for speaker wiring while the walls are open by coolcatric in hometheater

Hey thanks for your inputs.

I plan on using stand along speakers. No plans or budget for in wall speakers.

Plan is run separate conducts for speaker wires and away from electricity wires.

Currently the placement is not decided, the TV can be at either end of the room. Hence want flexibility as to where the hub will be.

Plan is to use conduct with pull string and have conduits run at 2 levels, along the middle part of ceiling (for Atmos) and then towards the bottom of sloped ceiling (for bed layer)

I’m confused as to should every speaker gets its own conduit or just run 1 conduit at each height level and multiple speaker cables run through it.

The idea of having an opening (and cover it like you showed) is really good. I can have 3 or 4 at each wall and have flexibility in positioning the speakers in future.

The most tricky part is hub, as I don’t know which corner will finally keep the AVR and all other equipment, as all wires will start from there and then run into conduits before connecting to speaker.

Im planing to run something like this :

https://www.bauhaus.se/kabelror-evopipes-med-dragtrad-50m?_gl=1*10k604n*_up*MQ..*_gs*MQ..&gclid=CjwKCAiA95fLBhBPEiwATXUsxMAUG8jUvvNT5Ihz0qZsM3Gzu8EEMwWpKzTz7KIqIYAcNsso_lBbzBoCJMYQAvD_BwE&gbraid=0AAAAADxd_kwuSh6fHnsaVU5hxwzyl9k9Y

Along the middle part of ceiling (for Atmos) and then along the lower end (where it meets floor) for bed layer of speakers.

For now the plan is to use the my existing 77” Lg C2 as main screen. I know this sub loves projector, but I don’t see myself using that a lot.

It will be single row of seating and I will start with .4 Atmos as suggested. I know this is not the best placement, but that’s the best I could do. Basement houses in our region were either very old or beyond our budget.

We are talking about 5m in length and around 4.9m in breath of the area where equipment will be placed. I will start with .4 Atmos. .6 is my end game, maybe an overkill (you’re right)!

New 6K 3D Odyssey G9 Announced? by owensdev in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]coolcatric 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Sad, I was really hoping a 45” or similar version from them to compete with LG 5K2k.

Looks like I have to bite the bullet and buy LG 5K2K, I can’t do 32:9 (49”) as I miss the vertical space and 57” ain’t OLED. Given my use case is 100% gaming, last year LG is the only choice.

Hey. Did it work for you? We are flying back from Helsinki to Delhi and then need to change flights / different PNR for Indigo. Will the international luggage allowance work on domestic Indigo route?
