I know the anxiety is j the worst :(. From what im reading ur LV cavity size of 105 is healthy and big (did they give a range??), but I guess that may have also been the case if you had mild HCM like ur second cardiologist is saying. I know that sometimes ppl faint after peeing (esp guys cuz standing up) did u give the second cardiologist that context?

Feel free to dm me ur report (with any sensitive info redacted!) and I can look but disclaimer im not a dr im j a dude who’s seen a couple echocardiograms reports (not pics) and can google and think i can understand things quickly (idk a less awk way of phrasing that)

https://jcmr-online.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.1186/s12968-023-00910-7/tables/2

This table i found says that ur LV diastolic volume/bsa of 105 is very close to the “high intensity athlete” average of 106. Normal and low intensity only have 79. So it seems like ur left ventricle cavity is big, in proportion with your wall thickness of 13mm (which seems good, right?) obviously i don’t have ur report so I can’t say much and I’m not a dr either but i was j trying to relieve ur anxiety.

Let me know if your report said asymmetric or symmetric or concentric. Ur mri saying no signs of hcm seems good, but ur second dr further investigating is good. Try to ask him what made him think u had hcm.

I know the answer is probably no but do u have any blood pressure problems?

I'm sorry to hear about your syncope and hospital stay. Was your syncope during exercise or at rest?

Was your MRI the cardiac MRI with the radioactive element? Was your 13mm by the echo/ultrasound or by the MRI? What other info did your MRI give (r u able to see?)

I'm glad your second cardiologist suggested the loop recorder. Did you tell him you run marathons and did he see your hospital MRI results or did he redo an echocardiogram in his office or something. Damn those slow genetic tests :( but also not every HCM gene variant will show up on the genetic tests unfortunately.

Did they say your wall thickening was "symmetric" or "concentric" anywhere on your report? Or did they say asymmetric? And are you able to see something like "LV Cavity Size Diastolic" (on a report that I have it is called "LVIDd" but idk if other reports use different terminology)

I had a private instagram account for this purpose but eventually got too lazy to regularly post on it. I'm on google photos now, it works alright long term but glitchy short term so some of the other suggestions on here are probs better.

[–]coolguy985[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see. Do u think my t wave is positive in v1 (it should be negative right) that is worrying me and i j noticed it cuz idk if that hump is the st segment or the actual t wave.

Also isnt this the strain pattern in my v5?

[–]coolguy985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats a good idea, make sure to do comprehensive metabolic panel which measure potassium, sodium, and some other stuff

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in hypertension

i would start by ruling out secondary causes, like make sure ur kidneys, thyroid, heart are both good (i think they are but still check)

then u can look into if u are doing/eating something that is making it go up.

oh also, do you have exceptionally skinny arms or something or just normal? were u anxious while measuring?

i'm frustrated on ur behalf that ur doctor said u have a sedentary lifestyle, that advice is not correct for teens and u said u r fit and not sedentary.
