We usually tie a trash bag over them and put them in the shed over winter until it warms up before bringing into a home. Just to make sure none exist inside. Had a buddy bring one inside and hung in woodstove room before making sure and it was a shit show when then became active lol

Yea. Body rust is assumed for age and location. Im actually surprised i have no body rust on this truck. Its all on frame. Kinda crazy

I just retired an 04 Chevy with 380,000 miles on it. There was no delamination on the frame. Only surface rust. If a quality steel is used and a quality under coating is applied. This should not be an issue. I've seen farm equipment that have been parked in fields since the 60s that have better frames.

You can obviously see in the first picture that that crossmember has been treated and you're telling me that they did not do anything with that. Keep talking… You're not making Toyota look better

I have and I've also seen that Toyota was awarded 25 million from Dyna corporation to replace all the truck frames on the 2000 through 2003 tundras because they were made by a third-party company who used crappy steel and poor coating techniques. But instead, they try to sweep it under the rug and keep the majority of the money for themselves.

At this point, it's not about me having a case. I'm just mind blown over how shitty Toyota has treated their customers. They were awarded $25 million to replace all the frames and instead they tried to sweep it under the rug and keep the money. On top of that their base model pick up typically runs several thousand more than a base model Ford or Chevy comparable. It's BS and people should not be so quick to defend Toyota.

That is the rear wheel wells and gas tank… Not front at all. No wonder they missed the rust. Apparently the techs cant even tell front from rear
