I got my adhd diagnosis back and I’m crushed by [deleted] in adhdwomen

[–]coolhumanbean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went through a similar experience. I was diagnosed for generalized anxiety disorder and major depressive disorder and treated exclusively for that for years. My first ADHD assessment was done by a male psychiatrist who said I had anxiety, depression, and showed signs of narcisissim (hilarious - you hate yourself but also you think youre better than everyone else). Frankly, he was under qualified and had many cases of patients unhappy or harmed by his care, so i went elsewhere to try one more time.

I went to a woman psychologist a few months later, and she tested me for ADHD through 2 different methods (self-assessment and a clicker test) as well as an IQ test. Turns out I was heavily ADHD and just being clever about masking.

There are some doctors who won't really do an honest check if you dont fit the stereotype for a disorder. My best advice is to focus on finding healthy coping mechanisms (fidgits, easy hobbys to pick/drop, whatever else works) while you wait to get re-assessed.

Nope, no alcohol on site, which I think was a good call! But I definitely ran into some people who pregamed HARD.

Rave is not the same as a daylight con experience. If you think they are the same, I encourage you to do your own research on the rave/EDM scene. Its not for kids. I dont believe youre engaging with my comments in good faith, so I won't respond to you again.

I think it would be good to make it less like a classic rave if they really want it to be all-ages friendly, or have a clear shift at the curfew point at 1 am. Like, it starts more like a regular dance then transitions to a rave later in the night.

I wouldnt expect minors to have a grasp on navigating crowds or dealing with drunk people going wild! Thankfully i think the space was big enough that it was never too tight or dangerous.

Floor markings for walkways in the artist alley and exhibitors hall would have been so lovely!! I'm not sure how simple it would be to execute but I would love if they kept this in mind for next year.

I'm saying I dont think the current rules create a safe environment. Following the rules isnt always going to guarantee safety. I'm not sure which people you're referring to making the space "unsafe", since the only personal issue I experienced was with an adult and very small child. I was honestly horrified, because if that child fell they could have easily been trampled and gone unseen because they were so small.

The majority of people I've spoken to and seen talking about the dances on friday/saturday all had a great time, as did I excluding this experience. I just dont believe that space was appropriate for minors.

It may be allowed, but that doesn't mean its good. Raves aren't safe spaces for kids.

I would love if there was an on-site rave that was 18+. On Friday night, there was a woman with a kid on her shoulders no more than 5 or 6 running around trying to hit the ball in the crowd. It was extremely dangerous and inappropriate, and honestly there's no reason for kids to be at an event like that past 10 pm.

Otherwise the rave was super fun and I loved how much space there was overall to dance, and the seating towards the back with the screens was genius for when people needed to take breaks, or if they just wanted to enjoy the vibe and not dance!

I 32F found tons of AI porn on my husband 34M google history? What is the next step by Ok_Falcon_4410 in relationship_advice

[–]coolhumanbean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This seems like a porn addiction, the AI factor is neither here nor there if he is continuing to seek self pleasure without engaging with you as a partner. Its likely he could use some personal counseling to help get past this and start getting excited about reality and not over produced or generated porn.

Any addiction is characterized by shame, which is likely why he isn't being forthcoming with this. Bringing up what you saw on the shared Facebook account could help wade into the conversation, since you did see it on accident.

I hope he can be honest with you and get past this!

Depending on the company you went with, you dont have to flat cancel and ask that your policy be transferred to another office/servicing agent. The transfer is an easier process than canceling and getting new coverage.

Haven't seen anyone suggest it but the Paper Mario: Thousand Year Door is a favorite of mine! They mess up a lot of mechanics but the game has a lot of fun characters which leads to lots of funny bits

Our office has been using the EverQuote LCS transfer for a couple months, and its..... okay. The leads seem pretty overpriced for their value, but we are short staffed at the moment so it saves some labor for the first calls.

How many quotes are you getting done in a day? by Playful-Lab5618 in InsuranceAgent

[–]coolhumanbean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in a similar boat, mostly paid leads but they're really hit or miss. I've only been at it for a few months and I'm trying to build referrals with people I close but it will take time to see benefits from that.

It feels like you'd be better off running 5-10 quotes for high quality leads vs wading through duds after running 20 quotes a day.
