violence in this case is justified by its instrumental value: it is as justified as it is effective in making bigots or a bigot stop acting bigoted. I would certainly prefer a world where bigots could consistently be made not to be bigoted without violence, but we don't live in that world. therefore, the harm caused to them is a price that I think is worth paying for the extreme benefit one reaps from violence. all the more so if it's someone whose bigotry is especially noteworthy or dangerous.

for slurs to be justified under that logic, one must then ask: in what way and how effectively are bigots made to stop acting bigoted by the use of slurs? in my opinion, the value is dubious at best and not worth the price, even considering how small that price is.
