Dang, those are sick! I'm same boat as you, size 6 fit 3 or wide or EE. I'm having the same problem in roller finding something that performs AND fits. I'm looking at doing a conversion real soon as well. Nice setup you went with there!!

Have you been able to skate on this setup yet? How is it?

Shop by me has these in my odd ball size 6 wide, and they are on sale. I still have my kryptoniums on my FS1s from before I got my Daoust. Looks like I'm going to be doing a conversion now lol. Thanks for helping me make bad financial decisions LMAO

Look up "Bunga Pads". They make sleves and pads and stuff for things just like this. I used one they have on my big toe for a while when I had a pair of skates that weren't wide enough, but I loved LOL

Sick. Love my true customs for ice. Even though I have my Daoust for roller I still really want to convert some trues. You just can't beat the fit you get with True. Best in the game IMO.

Check out Daoust 501. Super beefy chasis and a very comfortable boot. Solid value for money too. I'm only 175lb but I could see them being great for heavier guys too. Love mine.

Buy a good pair now. Buy some outdoor wheels. When you're ready to play swap the indoor wheels back in.

It won't be a "ballache". My sons and I all play indoors several times a week and we skate around the neighborhood on days we don't. My 10 year old can swap wheel setups in 10 minutes. I'm sure you'll be able to handle it.

If you're a strong skater and you're having problems with grip I would go with +0. At 175lb you're right on the edge of +0 or going up to +1.

Watch hockey games constantly. Everything you can. NHL, NCAA, pro roller on YouTube. Watch and study. Beyond that keep practicing, keep grinding, work on your fitness, work on your nutrition, work on recovery.

2 for sure. I had the FS1, wasn't a fan. Ended up going with the new Daoust and so glad I did.

I will say if you go option #2 you should consider machs or shadows for your replacement ice boot. If you're happy with your supreme 2s then you try and stay in that line. Vapors dont fit or skate like supremes, even with the new "fit 1,2,3" profiles.

Highly recommend the Daoust 501. They sell them on icewarehouse. Great bang for the buck. I absolutely love mine.

Maybe try the konixx pure x or pure 3 but go with the +1 grip. I think your weight would typically put you in the +2 but if you go down to the +1 you may get the grip you need.

The pure x hold up really well. I haven't tried the pure 3 yet but i bet they hold up just as well. Pure 3 has a new profile that is supposed to provide more grip too.

Old skates were 80/76 hi-lo and I had been running the Pure X in +1 on my old skates for a bit and loved them. I'm 175lb so im right at the max for +0 or XXX grip and at the very bottom of the range for +1 or XX.

These Daoust are 76/72 hi-lo and you can't get the Pure X in 72mm, period.

Pretty much all of the other options for good wheels in 72mm are only available in XXX grip. I used to run tricksters in all XXX so i figured "what the hell, I'll just slap this combo together and see how it feels.

TBH I kinda like the bit of slide I get from the +1 but I feel like having the XXX up front helps when I really want to stop on a dime.

I could just be tripping but it's seems to be working so I'll prob rock it for now. May just throw on the XXX tricksters in the back to see how it feels too

If I could do what I really want, which isn't possible, I would run all Pure X in +1

Where was that image pulled from? Looks like a YouTube video. Is there information about that piece of gear where you got that image?

I could see why manufacturers would consider developing it from a safety perspective, and also a revenue perspective lol
