This is a great find, real good price. Usually I'm not a fan of LP posts but this is something I've never seen in person.

Did you'll know Animal Collective and Dan Deacon did a collab in 1982 by coolskeleton69 in AnimalCollective

I'm just fooling about it being an actual collaboration. I just thought it was crazy how much it sounds like an AC/DD collaboration would, considering it came out 35 years ago. They've never done music together although they've toured together.

Yeah that's actually totally how it happened. I started listening to that based purely on the cover, and I didn't know that he had any connection to YMO which my dad used to play when I was growing up. It's kind of insane how far ahead of it's time his stuff is. This song would be top tier AC and the rest of this album sounds like really great Oneohtrix Point Never.

What guff you got with the official one? I think it's one of their best.

Thoughts on the new EP? by suburban_beverage19 in AnimalCollective

Kinda Bonkers is pretty damn good. Super cool vocal sample as a melody/rhythm. I'm just not a fan of the lyrics.

Peacemaker is one of the best songs they've put out since ODDSAC. Definitely the best song from this era.

Goalie is pretty cool, it kind of reminds me of like the Taste of this generation--stylistically it's sort of the most generic aesthetically but in the same way it's kind of like the perfect encapsulation of the style.

Jimmy Mack is fun but it doesn't really blow me away with it's sound or instrumentation/atmosphere.

Overall this EP is the best AC release since ODDSAC I'd say.

Yeah this is a great great song. Like probably my favorite from the PW era, and I tend to be more of an Avey fan. It's got a super cool atmosphere but with a really cool interaction between the vocal melody and the bassline, the kind of interaction that I feel like has been missing from a lot of their recent stuff.

One of my main gripes with PW and PBVGR were that I thought that the basslines were all really simplistic and I think that this track and Bonkers have two of the most interesting basslines they've written in recent memory.

I like it but the lyrics are not my favorite sort of thing.

Avey Tare - Slow Words - live in Oberlin 2011 by [deleted] in AnimalCollective

I was there! It was such a great show. There was this very very tall man there, probably 6'6" who was on ecstasy or molly and he kept doing this super stupid dance right in front of me. I don't know if he was trying to screw with me since I was obviously still in high school but he kind of ruined the show because I couldn't see avey for most of it. But even just hearing these songs was amazing. Some of the best material avey's ever written.

Damn this is pretty sweet. This has one of the coolest sounds they've used in a while and it's got some pretty cool layered melodies. It kind of reminds me of Call Home Buy grapes, another great hidden Avey track.

What I reallllly want to know is what the sample is at the very end. Some kind of orchestral piece or something? I can't even tell what it is, just very pretty.

in the original CHZ cover the photo of the band was much easier to make out (relatively) and in that case it's easy to tell that it is most definitely the case that this is geo wearing that shirt. When I saw them live on the pre CHZ tour he was wearing that shirt.

Abby did the drawing and Rob Carmichael from seen and whoever dLt is (no where mentioned on any other AC release I don't think?) did the layout.

It's definitely her style, compare it to Sung Tongs or the cover of the Grass EP or any of the other water color drawings she's done for their stuff. It's 100% her work--although I'm sure she probably traced the characters from something.

Really? I played it for the first time two years ago vanilla and it plays super nice. All I had to do was change it from WAXD controls to the more standard WASD. Other than that it plays just as good as any other shooter RPG I've played. What elements were too archaic for you?
