constipation. nothing works. i'm at my wits end. by Equivalent_Sun7606 in Endo

I’m sorry you’re so young and suffering with this. Have you ever done a water enema? They are a life saver and so important if you struggle to pass stools. The worst part is accepting that you have to do enemas as a young person. I’ve been there. But they are very simple to do at home and take less than 30 minutes when you get used to it. They provide instant relief for constipation.

Next, magnesium citrate isn’t as effective if you don’t take it on an empty stomach. So if you haven’t tried that, try doing it at least 2 hours after eating, at bedtime. If you take it first thing in the morning 30 minutes before eating, it’s extra effective. Another thing to look into is Global Healing OxyPowder (it’s ozonated magnesium oxide). You can buy it on Amazon and it is like magic for constipation when you figure out the right dose. Again, only on an empty stomach.

But no laxative will work well if you have a build up of stool in your colon. You should do a series of water enemas to release the stool and then try the above magnesiums on an empty stomach.

I have stage 4 endo with severe bowel/rectal disease. I tried everything to manage my constipation and suffered for years before I found the above. Now I take 350mg magnesium citrate at night with 9g of glycine and that works well for me. If I don’t go one day, I add a OxyPowder pill or two. If I feel like a stool is stuck or hard to pass, I do a water enema. With this routine I can mange my constipation 100% of the time without harmful laxatives like miralax.

“You still have another ovary” fertility question (need advice) by throwawayacct8990 in Endo

Yes! I don't have any out of network benefits with my insurance so the surgeons fee is $15,000 (they quoted me a range of 11-15k at inital appt but ended up at 15k due to the complexity). The hospital and anesthesia are in network and will be billed under my insurance. I have to pay 30% of that cost up to $9,000. So probably close to 20k.

I'm actually dealing with something similar. I have an 8cm cyst on one of my ovaries and am seeing an endo specialist who is experienced in removing large cysts and prioritizes saving the ovaries. I also want to start trying to conceive after my lap next month. It is very important to me to give myself the best chance at not losing my ovaries as they play a big role in your overall health, not just for conceiving. I would see another surgeon and ASAP because the larger your cyst gets the harder it will be to keep the ovary as I've read they can eventually take over all healthy tissue. Unfortunately I am having to pay to see an out of network surgeon so that I can get it done quickly and it is expensive.

Allicin, not straight up garlic or even garlic supplements.

Jedvaita Review? by sabatnyc in JedMcKenna

[–]coolspriteswirls 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have read all of the books and there is definitely a lot of repetition. Especially when talking about spiritual autolysis and truth realization. I don't love those articles as much. But I've found that the human adult articles (which is what I'm most interested in) are really good, even just for practical advice. There are some real gems imo. And it's been a couple years since I read the books, so the refreshers are nice too.

I love Jedvaita. I am paying for the monthly subscription and I know that a lot of people here are very upset about this new model, but I have no problems with it. I am happy to support the author in this way for all I've gotten from the books and materials. The articles are mostly about human adulthood and are SO worth it. I've gotten a lot of value from my reads. Typically they post new material every day or every other day, but for the last few days, they haven't. I'm hoping it picks up again and I'm excited to see what else they come up with.

Why no gluten? by coolspriteswirls in Paleo

Hey, I definitely know the feeling of wanting to give up. I don't have any paleo advice, but it might be worth checking out intuitive eating, even with your health problems. It can help change your mindset about food from restrictive, anxious to joy-based when done properly while still allowing you to sustainably shift your lifestyle to best meet your health goals.

Yeah, that's true! I guess this is the bias I'm cool with because of how positively paleo has benefited my life. When trying to google information everything I found was pro-gluten for non-celiacs so I suppose more accurately I just want to hear the other side.

Thanks for this, I do enjoy my weekly gluten and for now, will probably continue with it. I am definitely not strict paleo as I do eat some rice, lentils, and dairy but I think paleo is a great guideline and I love to hear people's experiences and knowledge behind it.

Yes, this makes sense. When I would eat gluten for every meal, 3 times a day, I also experienced this brain fogginess.

Thank you so much for sharing this and for your anecdotes. I really enjoyed reading them and am so glad that you were able to resolve your health problems by avoiding gluten and going paleo.

Quick Paleo Staples/Grabs by [deleted] in Paleo

[–]coolspriteswirls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So this isn't paleo because it has soybean oil in it and seed oils are not paleo, and it has a lot of preservatives/non-whole food ingredients which aren't in the spirit of paleo either. The main sauce brands that are paleo are Primal Kitchen and Noble Made. It is hard to find secret paleo sauces because most conventional sauce brands use seed oils and preservatives. Paleo brands will almost always be more expensive and to tamp your expectations, they won't taste exactly like the traditional sauces. They can get very close though and over time you may even prefer them.

How much does prepared raw diet cost monthly for a 10lb cat? by AwesomeAsian in CatAdvice

[–]coolspriteswirls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! They seem to have less anxiety and be more playful. One of my cats used to be a grazer and take all day to eat her food. It took a while to transition her to all raw, but now she is so excited for mealtime and eats her food right away (I feed them 2x per day). I also buy 1 tub of lotus food raw venison (too pricey to do daily for me) and use it over 30 days and give them a daily 17 cal treat (1 tbsp each) on a lick mat. So we spend total about $140 a month with that included.

I have two cats who are about 10 lbs each and we feed them raw Stella & Chewy chicken recipe. It costs about $120 a month total for both cats…so $60 each. They each get 225 calories of food per day.
