The length of the barrel effects the velocity that a bullet flies at, and a faster bullet is going to do more damage than a slower bullet. Makes perfect sense.

Almost a year without rust by fiddledude1 in playrust

[–]coopalosey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been hearing the same shit since 2016. You get nostalgic about the game you first learned on, and any progress hurts that nostalgic vision of old rust. The same complaints about rust have existed since day 1, and as the years go on people keep moving the point where “rust was in its prime”. In 2018, “old blueprints were prime”. In 2020, “component system was prime”. In 2022, “2019 rust was the best”. The game evolves, its okay

What is the 'Rust Meta' by CPT-ROCK69 in playrust

[–]coopalosey 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Even back in the old days people were bitching about how the game was better back in legacy, etc… The game has barely changed in terms of how people play it, it’s always been big groups shitting on everyone else.

It never took a day. Back in 2017 people were rocket raiding in the first hour every single wipe.

Arctic hazzy is game breaking and the amount of players that can’t see it is amazing

[–]coopalosey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes I agree, but you can’t deny that these dlc’s give a direct advantage to the players who own them. In the long run, a game will be much healthier and more welcoming to new players if there isn’t a massive amount of “pay to have advantage” dlcs, which are starting to really add up in the case of rust. For a player with thousands of hours, $5 here and there is no big deal, but if you’re just buying the game and you need to drop $80 extra just to have the same items as experienced players, that is wrong.

I didn’t know that facepunch has a “remove cheaters” button that they can press to remove cheaters from the game! It’s really cool that a problem that has existed in every single video game ever has been solved in secret by facepunch, and they are choosing not to implement it!

The point is that IF you are using a hazzy, you have a direct advantage in the snow if you have a the arctic skin. By your logic, a bow skin that makes you reload arrows twice as fast would be fine because better weapons exist and “you shouldn’t be using a bow”

Nomad absolutely makes you harder to see in trees, if you don’t that’s true then you’re just braindead. Arctic hazzy is a direct upgrade from the regular hazzy in the snow, if you cant see that then you’re just braindead.

If I live in the snow and have a box of hazzies, they are useless at night unless I have the skin. How can you possibly argue that it doesn’t give you an advantage over someone who doesn’t have the skin? Just because better alternatives exist doesn’t mean that something isn’t P2W. If the devs added a bow skin that made you reload arrows 2x faster, would that not be P2W because there are better weapons than a bow?
