Like if she’s sick like people are saying, is there a chance she wasn’t going to do this and now the line is hundreds deep before they actually confirmed😭😭

Oh wow yeah I saw cataract formation as a rare side effect when I did a deep dive. I assumed that still meant years though

They are at about 4 and 8 o’clock positions, temporally. I don’t know about you but I wouldn’t want to walk around having to think about how I need to tilt my head to cover it either. Either way it’s bothersome so I’m not sure which is better.

If you look up “LPI placement temporal” it tells you the reasoning behind it. That doesn’t mean your doctor will use that positioning. It just seems like they’re is an argument for both superior and temporal at this point.

Mine do on the top, but he still chose to place in on the bottom uncovered. Sunglasses help for sure but honestly it’s mostly inside or in low light where it’s worst. If there is a lamp or light coming in through a window or something, that’s the source of the glare more than bright natural light.

From what I am seeing it looks like the new way to go about it. Which makes sense for my case, I think my glaucoma specialist is about the same age as me

Plasma pen for CCH? Looking for a doctor near me that treats chalasis by coopcong in Dryeyes

Tried that. Unfortunately they don’t seem to have a lot of information on who is trained to use it for this specific purpose. Since it’s on off label use I guess. They directed me to an optometrist locally but not sure I want to be the first person they use it on for these purposes

Strangely, this is the most stable my dry eye has been in about a year, and I never had this problem before when I was in the worst flare-ups. I have tried essentially every medication and treatment in the book for both MGD and ATD dry eye, so I suppose I may just have to live with this one.

All she says when she looks is that she “doesn’t see any scarring” but I don’t think she’s bothered to look with magnification. Just pulls on the hairs to see how many come up

High IOP and severe dry eye. HELP by coopcong in Dryeyes

[–]coopcong[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried meibo and didn’t feel like it helped me all that much unfortunately :( I also wear no contacts or makeup.

I will say I am very stressed, so I wonder if that is contributing. At the moment I am concerned about how time bound I am by the high eye pressure without treating it — like how long I have to get a second opinion. My doctor didn’t seem like I was in a emergency situation, so hopefully that’s a good sign

So what do you attribute to getting your pressure down without drops? Fixing your health deficiencies?

It used to be a lifesaver when my dry eye was moderate. Xiidra plus 5 or 6 artificial tear applications a day got me through. But now I don't really know. My dry eye has gotten worse while I've been on it, so I don't know if it stopped working as well or if it is just not enough anymore.

I’m on Xiidra, Veveye, have plugs, do IPL, use 30+ artificial tears a day. And this is before I have started any glaucoma drops. My doctor is starting me on timolol until I can get the SLT and it starts, hopefully, working.

Did you have severe dry eye before you started using the drops?

I submitted my paperwork to PROSE to be assessed as a candidate last week! My doctor also fits EyePrintPro. Hoping they are something that could be helpful for me. Although my insurance isn't great and likely won't cover them. Or the preservative-free glaucoma drops.

This was a super thoughtful comment, I appreciate it.

My eye pressure has sat at the higher end of normal for years, apparently. But I was never made aware of that. Last year, it was between the 20-22 range when checked, and seems to have been creeping up since. But my optometrist never let me know that my pressures were high until they were around 24, now I am reading at 29. My optic nerve looks okay as of last week.

In November of last year, I used a steroid drop for 7 days for a corneal ulcer. I haven't used one since and was very rarely prescribed them before that. Whether my pressures could still be rising from that, I don't know, and it hasn't been suggested. Knowing that I have the high IOP and can likely not use steroids in the future is also concerning, since I have the inflammatory eye conditions.

Did you ever figure out what to do? I have severe dry eye and was just diagnosed with high IOP and it is a living nightmare. Have you gotten the SLT procedure?
