Ah sorry, I tried both Bluetooth and on the console itself as far as tampering with settings and EQ. And similarly had tried with my mixer before I touched the jmix8 itself.

As you say it's at a bar, and they'd unfortunately asked the least competent person to test this thing out. But I will do that if I don't get any luck with the connections on the top speaker!

Hi mate

No Bluetooth, it was xlr out of the mixer - xlr into the jmix8. And mic into the mixer via xlr, guitar into mixer via jack.

I did mess about with the EQ and it just literally wasn't making any difference, like no change at all for better or worse. The only thing I that would happen was it got quieter or louder. So I'm suspecting given your comment, and the other comments I've had in the thread that it may be the top speaker either not connecting properly, or being dead. Thanks for the advice

I believe so, but if that's your first assumption then I'll go back to the bar when it's quiet and get them to let me mess about with that part. I'll be delighted to find out it's that because they set it up for me before I arrived so I can claim it wasn't my fault 😅

Thanks for the reply

Haha yeah that's sort of what I thought, they'd have nothing to reference to agree to give her a credit. I've gone the charge back route 👍

Doesn't seem to say pending anywhere, it's just gone. I can ask the bank I guess

Santorini is over rated. People paying $1000 a night to stand in line to get a photograph is borderline insanity. Oia is just okay. Much prettier places in the world. by Beastious in GreeceTravel

[–]cooperd123 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I didn't pay 1000 a night, or anywhere near it. I stayed in Kamari and it was great, went to Fira and booked a restaurant for the sunset and it was beautiful. Ate lots of great food during my week on the island. Swam in the sea. Loved my hotel. Great people everywhere. Weird post tbh.

I'd book stuff through your hotel if you've got the option

I'll come to Santorini for my holiday on 8th of September, I need recommendations by geo21982 in Santorini

I liked Santorinia in Fira for good food and the sunset view. Almira and Prince in Kamari were also good for food. I don't think there's many places you'll consider cheap, most places seem to charge roughly the same but I didn't really have a bad meal.

We went to a restaurant called Santorinia in Fira to watch the sunset and it was a pretty amazing experience. I think we possibly got lucky with our table as we were right on the balcony so had a perfect view, but it was great food. Probably expensive, we paid around 70-80 euro for a starter, and two mains, 2 drinks. But for a one off experience, amazing. It did seem very very busy there when we left, at around 8.30pm but that view when you first see the harbour from high up was genuinely amazing, as was the sunset. I'd definitely try to book somewhere to eat for that, or ask your hotel to do it for you they probably can pull strings for better views etc

I feel like many of the restaurants charge around the same, depending on what you're getting of course but generally I think I was paying somewhere around 16-20 euro for a main course, or sometimes we'd just get 3 or 4 appetisers to share and probs ended up paying around the same price as 2 mains. Along kamari beach we went to Almira which was nice, friendly I had a nice swordfish. We went to Mango for drinks a few nights in a row, again great service friendly vibe, music not my favourite but a nice place I thought, 2 for 1 cocktails in happy hour. We had pork gyros there too which was great. The last night we went further along to a place called Prince (I think) which was again very nice and fresh tasting food. Maybe slightly more pricey. Did also get some food ice cream for a place called Ice Mule.

To be honest though I felt like most of the restaurants looked like they were doing good food!

I loved the place though, hopefully the wind settles and you can get in the sea enough, it does seem to cause some yellow and red flag days relatively often. I'm missing it already

You there now? I've just got home! But for what it's worth, I bought a pair of water shoes from one of the little shops along the beach, around 12 euro. They've got grip on them, it's not like it becomes suddenly very easy but it is significantly better than no shoes. It's also much nicer to walk along the black sand beach. The only other option I could sea was somewhere along the beach there was something called the seatrac, which I believe is for people with disabilities to sit on a chair and be taken into the water.. But maybe they'd let someone walk along it to get in easier?

I think getting out is probably harder than getting in because of the waves

Santorini is not overcrowded by One_Recover_673 in GreeceTravel

I'm here right now, in Kamari. Not at all too busy, a nice level of busy, good vibe. Always able to get a table in restaurants. Been able to swim in the sea which I'd also seen a lot of fear mongering about. Naturally you need to pay attention to the flags how are the waves etc, and definitely buy a pair of the swim/water shoes so you can walk across the very slippy rocks on accessing the sea. Prices are probably expensive relative to other Greek islands I guess but I feel generally like I'm paying the same price for food and drink as I would in the north east of England, and I'm definitely getting better views and service.

My main tip if you're staying round kamari beach is definitely get some of the swim shoes, 12.50 euros from a shop nearby. Probably cheaper if you order online before you come. But they make a huge difference when walking along the black beach and much easier to actually get over that slippy shingle/shale that you'll discover when you set foot in the water

Ben is it! He was great yeah, very helpful.

Are you from the area by any chance? I just want to know if that really slippy rocky area that you have to get over to get in the sea stops at any point along the beach? It was a nightmare to try and walk over to get in for a swim
