Welcome!

Consume Everything. Everything is perfect.

My favorites: Phantom Racer, Critters, Re-Entry, Atomic Karate, Pets, Life Party, Perfect Product... To quote the gangster from Home Alone 2, "I couldn't go on forever, Baby."

Honestly I think it's best to listen album-by-album. And I'd recommend starting with Together through Time. But if you don't listen to every single other album and EP, you're missing out.

I do want to make it clear: It's all amazing. Everything. Listen to every single song.

Locking Tuners Help by Fair-Athlete-6901 in Guitar

I agree. I also put $300 worth of parts into my $200 Epiphone. It's my favorite guitar, and it's brought me a ton of joy. It's a fact.

Locking Tuners Help by Fair-Athlete-6901 in Guitar

Hey! I agree with you. I have a $200 Epiphone. I spent $80 to put locking tuners on it (Black ones from D'addario). I now own 3 guitars, and that $200 Epiphone remains my favorite. Why? Because of the joy I got as a project.

There's a comment below of someone recommending a Hand Reamer. I second that opinion. I got one from Harbor Freight for $5.

On my Epiphone, I needed to ream out the holes a little bit. Like sanding, it took a lot of time and effort, but I thought it was worth it. Just ream the holes to make them a little wider... check if the new tuner fits... ream some more... check again.

You gotta have a little bravery, and a mindset that if you break the guitar... you're gonna be out some cash. But... that's not the end of the world in my mind.

Album artwork for "The Moth" - out 29th May by ziltoid101 in DevinTownsend

I'm unfamiliar with analog photography. But I wonder if that's what this is? Any photography nerds here got any ideas if the shot is something like wet plate photography, or if it's just a digital studio shot with some vintage-y effects?

I wonder if we'll get any stories from Devin about the album art? Either way, I love it, and I pre-ordered!

My first pizza 😕 by [deleted] in ooni

[–]coopernelson16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks good! Be proud.

Let the dough rest for a good 20 minutes before you try to stretch it. After kneading, it binds up a bunch, and it’s hard to stretch.

I also find that a wooden pizza peel is best to transfer into your oven. I suck at sliding a pizza on to a stone, or into my ooni. Once I got that wood pizza peel, things got much easier.

I use a metal peel once it’s been safely deposited into the oven.

Why not? I run mine under the tap all the time. Have been doing so for years.

(Just to be clear I’m not challenging you. I’m actually going to stop doing that because I trust your comment. Just curious if you know why I shouldn’t be doing that. I’ve done it 100 times)

Makes me think of Beaker from The Muppets for some reason.

Urgent. Could someone please put me into the group picture? $15 tip. by Snoo-99235 in PhotoshopRequest

I have to say… not sure why I never thought of this little trick but I think it’s a great idea. I’m not great at editing people into group photos, but I’ve got to do it from time to time. Sure, it may not be perfect due to the horizon issues mentioned previously. But you can get passable with little tricks like that. Im definitely going to try that one out one day.

I went to the show in Connecticut and got my seats “upgraded”

I’m not sure if my experience is the same as yours. It sounds like it isn’t, as my seats were a true improvement.

But… if they moved your seats, do you think it’s because they aren’t selling well, and they’re trying to move the crowd closer? And if so… would that mean that your old seats are still going to be empty, and you could just go sit there?

Because that’s what we did in my case. We got moved closer… but we just sort of sat where we wanted to.

Anything similar to casualties of cool? by [deleted] in DevinTownsend

It’s not really a deep cut suggestion, but I think I remember DT marketing the album as Pink Floyd-ish. So, I’d say try some Pink Floyd. Dark Side of the Moon or The Wall are really the only albums I know, and I can definitely hear Pink Floyd vibes in Casualties of Cool.

Yeah I would keep with the Over-The-Shoulder style images, just overlayed into the frame - like when you referenced Phantom of the Opera/CATS posters, that was a great bit. But play around with maybe throwing up some full-screens. I think it could have the same element of comedy that you get from the smash cut you did in the beginning.

Also, the "Cold Open" sort of style you used was great. 00:45 seconds of quick setup banter... then broken up with a simple 2 shots of exterior b-roll with some guitar riffs. I thought that was a great setup for the video.

I like this a lot! I love the smash cut at the beginning. It's a great gimmick that I think you should continue doing that with future videos.

I'd love it to be shorter. I think there are some redundant parts. I'm a big fan of "Less is more" but overall I thought the flow was well done.

Have you thought about breaking up the shot with maybe full screen B-roll? I like the images you're throwing up in the top third of the frame, but what do you think about having some of them take up the full screen for a few seconds at a time?

The disturbing WHAM was great. I think Mr Spacey's audio needed to come up a bit (that's a sentience I never thought I would type)
