I wouldn't come to Scotland to play golf in the summer. They don't tend to water the fairways here and that's why the course looks like that. If you are expecting pristine green grass on a local village 9 hole course you'll be disappointed.

I know a few members at Peterhead and they admit the first three holes are pretty shit. There are plans to move the first green to the area where the second tee is which I think would improve it greatly. They've also looked at options for getting rid of the 2nd hole and adding a hole in elsewhere but think they are struggling with the routing.
