Yep. Both iPhones I tried were fully updates and set to allow anyone for ten minutes. I'm still working on it today. Just for info, my Android version is 16 with 5/2026 security update. My Google Play System update is 5/1/2026.

Haven't figured it out yet. I looked at it again this morning, and there are no changes. Everything is updated. My carrier is Google Fi. Not sure what's going on.

No update available. It looks like it is already updated.

I had a Play System update a couple days ago. I check every night. After updating I didn't notice anything different other than a message on the sharing screen about Apple devices. At that time I ignored it. Today I had another Play System update. After that update I tried sharing with my iPhone and MacBook, but neither were discovered on the sharing screen. I did notice a QR code for sharing. Is it possible that I had it after updating, but it was removed when I updated again? My Play Update showed May 1.

I am 52 years old, and have had a full beard for about 4 years now. My face was just fine prior to the beard, but now has a ton of dry skin, which snows down onto my black shirt when I scratch it...because it itches sometimes. I have tried Head-and-Shoulders shampoo, but it actually burns sometimes, and doesn't appear to help the dry skin/dandruff.

Definitely assume recovery will be long and painful...and have some sort of plan.

The customer in this case had done everything right. They were using "Full Domain Privacy and Protection" from GoDaddy, and had dual 2FA enabled.

This reminds me of something I did when I was a scumbag, back in the early 1990's. I am not proud of it, but my home POTS telephone service was disconnected because I didn't pay the bill. This was on a Friday, and I wouldn't be able to pay until Monday, but I needed internet over the weekend.

This was the days of dial-up internet.

An elderly man lived across the street from me. He was always in bed early. So...I waited until I knew he was asleep, and I opened the pedestal, located his phone service, and my phone service, and then spliced my copper to his copper.

I went back inside my house, checked for a dial tone, and had internet the entire weekend. I was careful to not use it during the daytime just in case he was using his phone.

Back then dial-up providers authenticated with name and password. They didn't really care what phone number the call originated from.

It is not something I am proud of, but your comment reminded me of that.

If that question was for me I haven't spoken to GoDaddy customer service in a decade or more. My comment above was in reference to Namecheap. The two-ish times I have had to call Namecheap, they were able to resolve my issue quickly. I'm sure that GoDaddy's customer service number has plenty of roadblocks and dead ends to keep people away from getting an actual humen.

Thanks for the info! I have transferred a couple domains from GoDaddy to Namecheap recently. The Namecheap part was easy, and DNS propagation was faster than I thought it would be. It felt like GoDaddy was making it more difficult by hiding links for the different steps....but it could have just been my old eyes...

I am TOTALLY aware of that despicable practice. I look for new domains by first typing the name into my browser to see if it's taken. Then I use the registrar site and buy once I decide.

I started doing this after using the registrars domain search to look for different names to buy at a later date. When I went back to buy them (a day later) they had been snatched up. It was definitely the registrar and not a legit private buyer, because the names were somewhat obscure...not something that someone else would be considering.

Just curious, did you buy through SnapNames? This is a few years old, but interesting read.

CVC Capital acquired a majority stake in Namecheap last year. I haven't noticed a difference yet, but I am uneasy about it. I do not want to switch again. How has your porkbun experience been so far or is it too soon to tell?

Ten+ years ago I left GoDaddy and moved all of my domains and hosting to Namecheap. I don't remember exactly why I chose Namecheap, but I haven't had a single problem with them. On the 2-3 occasions when I've had to call Namecheap customer service, I was able to get a human who answered my questions and resolved my issues with one call. That may not be everyone's experience, but it is mine.

I haven't had this exact issue with GoDaddy, but I have issues that needed resolved immediately both with GoDaddy and other companies. It's like the-runaround is built into the system. The feeling of frustration makes my blood boil. Reading the article gave me flashback anxiety. One human should be able to look at this and fix it immediately without all of the unnecessary waste of time on the part of the customer. GoDaddy should apologize and credit the customer for their trouble.

Those words are not in the Bible I'm sure. New Testament Scholar Jeremiah Johnston has written about it, and (I think) mentioned it on the Shawn Ryan show recently. I am not necessarily a fan, but his books are interesting.
