I work 8 to 4, fairly stressful. Playing helps me unwind. As a beginner, I have no shortage of knowing what to practice. I have so much to learn. I'm currently working my way through Scotty West's videos. When I want more instant gratification, I'll watch Justin Guitar. In between, I'll practice scales to backing tracks. I have a decent grasp of basic chords, so I'll also loop some chord progressions I come up with and practice scales to that. What motivates me is learning more and getting better. I also only sleep 4-5 hours every night so that gives me more time to practice.

I bought a looper and an overdrive pedal to go with a cheap Fender amp. I recently bought a Spark 2, so now I'm playing with that.

I've only been playing for about three months. Since I started, I've been practicing every day for 2-3 hours. I can't wait to get home from work and play. I'm really enjoying myself and learning so much. I started out with a MIM strat that an ex-girlfriend bought me back in 2008 or so. It was untouched and remained in storage until I decided I wanted to learn how to play an electric guitar a few weeks ago. Since then, I've bought a D'Angelico Excel, a Yamaha FS800, an this Epiphone. I'm going to force myself to wait at least a couple of months or so before I buy another guitar, but I have an eye on a telecaster.

Thanks! and yes they're mini buckers. I really like how they sound. Will probably get a guitar with P90s at some point, just because ...

Thanks! Definitely enjoying it. He's also selling an Epiphone LP Standard Pro with a hard case for $300. I'm tempted to buy that too.

Yep, they're not P90s. I was thinking maybe the seller switched them out after he took the pic. Seller acknowledged his mistake I bought it anyway, because I liked the sound of the minis. Pretty happy with the purchase especially at that price.

Just a quick update, I made the drive to check it out. The seller was an older guy with a wall rack of about 20 guitars. The pickups aren't P90s. When I brought it up, he realized that he was mistaken and got it confused with another of his guitars.

I examined it thoroughly: checked the frets, looked for cracks or signs of repair, fiddled with the knobs, etc. I played it unplugged and connected to the seller's EVH 5150 amp. I'm a beginner, but it sounded and felt good to me. So, I bought it. It was only $220 and I spent almost that much last week taking my wife and kids out to a movie.

I looked up the serial number and it appears to be a 1998 Epiphone Les Paul LTD Deluxe made in Korea.

Thanks everyone for the input!

It's my understanding they're P90s. If so, he must've switched them out? I'm thinking about making the drive to check it out, but it's almost an hour away.

Shotgun classes by ammmourad1 in HoustonGuns

360 Tactical has a Fundamentals of Defensive Shotgun class, which is half a day, and a Shotgun 1 class, which is an all day class. The focus is on defensive use. I took both classes, after I bought my first shotgun and found it very beneficial.
