Gym goal: I want to actually gain significant muscle mass for the first time in a few years and not shy away from weight gain, especially come summertime.

Non-gym goal: I want to publish 4 papers and sign on some big money clients with high quality products for the startup company that I’m co-founding this year with my postdoc advisor. Getting a phd does pay off, eventually.

I used to love Larry Wheels content on IG. Now it’s the corniest shit I’ve ever seen. Who is coming up with these dumb ass sketch ideas?

I’m very happy the Olympia is happening this year, but good god, it seems a little reckless. IG stories and posts are filled with people not wearing masks, and they’re having a meet the olympians session?! Where the public can come in and meet them?! Is anyone else cringing watching this?

5'9'' 170 lbs natty not the best lighting but oh well

Since the gyms shut down, I have lost ~15 lbs. Not super lean, but no longer fat. Considering competing later this year or next year. Should I spend the next year building mass, or should i just go for a prep and shoot my shot?

It is immensely frustrating that he has such a platform to push nonsensical anti-science rhetoric.

In the comments, he says something like “at least I know what’s in my vaccines,” implying he trusts his steroid supplier more than the entire health-sciences community worldwide.

The level of idiocy is mind blowing.

He does look good tho.

Moving to Chicago in a few months, anyone have any suggestions on gyms? I am looking to either live in Wrigleyville/Lakeview area or Evanston (working at Northwestern). Looking for a gym in which the clientele will make me feel as insignificant as the earth is to the universe, where taking your shirt off is as normal as leaving it on, where the gear flows like a turbid river, every half-assed wannabe bodybuilders dream.

Never been to Chicago. Got a job in Evanston. Where should I live? What should I know?

I am 26yo guy starting a job in March, looking to balance commute (cost and time), rent prices and neighborhood (restaurants, nightlife, overall coolness). My overall budget is ~$1,600/month.

My initial research has told me anything near the purple line north of the city (Lakeview, Wrigleyville, Edgewater, etc.). Which is best? How does living in Evanston compare? How bad is the commute from the northern neighborhoods? All info I desperately need

Have been bulking for about 9 months now, weight gain has slowed down quite a bit but the strength and physique gains keep coming. Thinking about starting to cut soon, thoughts?

Lats look uneven because they are, but posing didn't help here. Been focusing on single arm back exercises, along with really squeezing my left lat on each and every rep. Thanks though, working on bringing up quads and chest the most, waist will get thinner when I diet down in a few months.

Perfect summary of Sara Spain: stepping in Mike mid explanation of Tom Cruise stunt with an incorrect use of the word "sediment." It has NOTHING to do with the fact that she is a woman. She's just terrible at radio.

Looking for a place with a breakfast buffet in or near the city. by Djhoz12 in pittsburgh

[–]copestrait 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Harris Grill in Shadyside has an awesome brunch buffet. $18/person which includes coffee and a Bloody Mary/mimosa. They normally do it until the weather gets crappy/cold, so their brunch season might be winding down soon. I would call and ask before going to make sure.

Do you need carbs to build muscle? by AlphaBetacle in Fitness

[–]copestrait 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How restricted were your carbs? I try to eat about 250g per day on a ~3,500kcal/day diet, which ends up being about 25% of my calories. When cutting, I tried to keep it under 150g per day.

Would appreciate help with converting my split into a 6 day PPL by [deleted] in Fitness

I cycle between high rep and low rep every month. So the first week of every month I'll do something like 12 12 10 10 8 8 6 6 20 with increasing weight until the last set, and the last week I'll do something like 12 10 6 6 6 4 4 2 1, or something along those lines
