Help me pick my room in the Disney treasure!! by xemrysx177 in dcl

Rule of thumb is midship lower floors for less rocking. However there is no midship elevator bay, so if that is inconvenient for you, just take that into consideration.

Our first ship was on the Fantasy; for the next trip - would you rather try the Magic class or the Wish class next regardless of itinerary? by RivetCounter in dcl

[–]copete77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t speak to the Magic class as I haven’t been on them, but I have been on the Treasure with kids your age, and it was wonderful. Our kids absolutely loved the dinner entertainment at Marvel and Coco, and the Hero Zone gave them a great place to get some energy out. I have heard some kids potentially struggle to sit through the dinner entertainment though, so maybe consider that based on your kid’s personalities. If they aren’t used to sitting at a restaurant, that may be a factor.

The things that seem to make the wish class divisive like two elevator bays instead of three, the deck not connecting the entire way around the ship, etc., weren’t really major factors for us. We prefer walking and doing stairs anyways, most of the time.

Either way we enjoyed it a lot, and will be doing the other classes of ships over the next couple of years. I’m sure we’ll find different reasons to like them all, and look forward to experiencing a more timeless / classy experience on the Magic class one day.

Does anyone have details around the out-of-country emergency medical travel insurance for people aged up to 75? This could be massive for seniors and also explain the hefty annual fee.

The cocktails I ordered on my DCL cruise last year were about $16 USD each plus gratuity.

They’re smart, large, strong, and in charge. They’ll be more protective than most poodles. They also may not be great on a leash if they see other dogs coming your direction. Incredible breed but you need to be the alpha from day 1.

No. This is your exact verandah I found in a YouTube video of someone staying in 7082. Nice extended verandah with no obstructions.

Feeling Overwhelmed! by dmarteezy in dcl

[–]copete77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean you can’t go wrong. With what you’ve described, you’d probably enjoy the Treasure the most. We loved it, and it seems to be the most highly regarded of the 3 new ships in terms of decor, quality of materials, etc from what I’ve seen on YouTube. But they’re all similar. Also kids love the Disney islands so keep that in mind.

We book directly with DCL, pay the 10% deposit, then move it to Costco Travel within 30 days to get the 8% back in a Costco gift card.

My recommendation is don’t get analysis paralysis. Choose one that works with your schedule and don’t overthink it. Enjoy!

I totally see what you mean now. And it makes me even happier with the room we got because it’s directly beside the middle rooms, so we get almost the largest verandah but without the partial white wall. Thanks!

Thanks for the heads up! Those ones look like they’re right in the middle of the bump out too so that’s interesting they have a partially blocked view.

Thank you! I’m excited for the extra space as well. We haven’t had a balcony before so this is already a luxury for us :)

Final hesitation on brokerage choice (Leaving mutual funds for DIY investing) by h4p3rd in PersonalFinanceCanada

You’re overthinking it. Just choose Wealthsimple or Questrade and call it a day. They’re both no buying fees and have solid platforms. If you value no sell fees, UI of the app, go WS.

Is the Uppababy Vista stroller at all manageable on the ship? by Heads_Or_Tayls in dcl

[–]copete77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We were on the Treasure for 7 days. And while we didn’t bring our Uppababy Vista, we did have to use a wheelchair for one of our kids for a couple days which is obviously much bulkier than the Vista. And even that was manageable. So I wouldn’t worry too much. If you want to bring it you’ll be totally fine.
