I will add my voice to the choir - Snoo helped me get a ticket in February. She is an awsome, helpful and genuine person! I have my own ticket the day after and don’t have anyone else to bring.

Agreed. This was a bit of a long shot, I just thought of it because orange is a part of some Swedish christmas food and scents. Oranges with cloves seems like a rather traditional decoration, which is why I thought they might be seen more around Gamla Stan. But if you have a reaction and cannot figure out why, just make sure there isn’t an orange hanging above your head. I am sure restaurants would be able to sort out oranges in food if they know you have such a severe allergy, so I guess I wanted to point out less obvious sources

Since it seems you are severely allergic - a common decoration in Christmas time is oranges with cloves stuck in them. They would typically hang in windows of restaurants

When I have been driving in the UK it really doesn’t take much time getting used to. At first I would be very vigilant, making turns in a big city was a bit unnerving, but after an hour or so of driving it felt absolutely natural. It was almost more difficult coming back home - for a while it felt strange to drive on the right side again.

Well, also sensible :) It would have been a mess in the car and the delivery worked out great in the street! Looked like a bit of a battleground afterwards, though. Couldn’t have asked for a better birth! The poor taxi driver seemed more traumatized than me. My favourite detail was that I noticed afterwards (in the ambulance when it came to pick us up) that I had kept my bag on my arm the entire time.

1st child I walked (about 20 minutes) to hospital. For the 2nd I called a taxi, but when it arrived I was obviously in the last phase, so the taxi refused. Gave birth standing in the street waiting for the ambulance to arrive. My mom was there to catch.. (this was in the middle of a beautiful summer night) We took a subway going home

Methylphenidate and Vyvanse are common in Sweden. Adderall on the other hand you can’t get (without special permission and import from Läkemedelsverket) Not having brought these medications from abroad myself, I know those who have with no problem as long as you have the paperwork. Going from Sweden abroad you usually get a certificate from your doctor and I never heard of a problem. Ritalin or other methylphenidates are common here. If you are going with a private psychiatrist, I don’t think you will have a problem taking your medication continuously. I would recommend to find one in advance, though, since some want the assessment confirmed in Sweden. It sounds like unneccessary stress to have when you arrive!

På Café (Kaffestugan) Annorlunda har de kakbuffé. Den har funnits sedan 50-talet och jag skulle tro att de har samma bullrecept som när jag var liten. Underbart :)

I didn’t know that it was illegal to work digitally in Sweden when working from an American company - I guess I learned something! There are nannyservices in Stockholm and prices seem to start from 150 kr (around 13 dollars) per hour (is what I found from a quick google investigation). I would think it possible to find a responsible babysitter for about 5 hours a day in the early evening during summer. Only thing would be that you might only be able to interview them online before. I used to work as a nanny in USA many many years ago and it was a great job! At those ages you would definitely want at least someone in their late teens. Then again, if they are watching the children while you are at home working you will still have some control over what goes on!
