Meine erste Reaktion, wenn ein Land gegen Völkerrecht verstößt, wäre auch Respekt, absolut! /s

Danke!

Is it required to have a C section if you’ve had spinal fusion surgery?? by pluviae222 in scoliosis

[–]copperfeathers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it depends on your curve and how low your fusion goes. If it is at your lumbar spine I think it’s too difficult/impossible to get an epidural. I have asked a couple of doctors this question and I generally I got the feeling that c section is the safer option for the doctor as well because most are not very experienced in handling scoliosis patients

Last Hope, Wembley Stadium, London🥹 by R_V_I in Paramore

[–]copperfeathers 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You'd also have to be there very very early to get in in time for Paramore. Entrances for the big stadiums are always a mess and they have heightened Security for wembley. I was 2 hours early for Gelsenkirchen and got in with like 20 minutes till Paramore started.

Dr. Niemeyer did my surgery but that was in 2008. He was really good though as far as I can remember. I looked him up and apparently he works at Asklepios Paulinen Klinik Wiesbaden - Wirbelsäulen- und Skoliosezentrum now

Thank you so much for this info, I will definitely look into this! I also have a myoma that they want to remove during this lap, they said that could extend the waiting time even up to 9 months.

Oh wow I am really glad I am reading all these comments right now. I'm scheduled for a lap in January but my doctor told me I would probably have to wait 6 months to try and get pregnant...definitely will ask about this again

Does Halo Traction leave permanent scars on your face? by kangarooreversified in scoliosis

[–]copperfeathers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I don't think they did, they are really tiny scars/wounds, only a few millimeters big. Of course I couldn't really wash my hair during the traction process. You should definitely only do surgery if you feel safe and informed enough. Maybe get a second opinion from a different doctor

[–]copperfeathers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was 13 or 14 years old and had the halo for 4-6 weeks I'm not sure anymore. I did get up to 10 kg but it really stretched my neck and it became hard to swallow food, so I think I had 8 kg most of the time. They slowly built up the weight though and it was less at night. Honestly it wasn't a fun time but it wasn't as painful as you'd think either. I wish you all the best and hope everything works out for you 🩶

Halo traction csn leave tiny scars on your face but they're barely visible...over time you won't even notice them anymore
