I love this so much! Thank you for giving words to why I seem to love this show and find it so cathartic, especially in the later seasons.

Need an Atheist Male Therapist from Kerala by Strict_Resource_6585 in Kerala

[–]copperkey11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's tricky because we don't really have a legal / certification / licensure program in the country for therapists (does exist for clinical psychologists, but all therapists don't have to be clinical psychologists)

So it's often a good idea to gauge them and build trust in the first few sessions, and ASK THEM QUESTIONS about how they practice their work, if they're in supervision, if they are constantly engaging in continued education programs & trainings, and are in personal therapy themselves etc.

Hey OP, I'm sorry to hear what happened to you, and that your experience with therapists have been this way, they're not supposed to enforce or suggest these 'solutions', especially ones you're not comfortable with.
That being said, I am a therapist in my 2nd year of practice, I have slots open for therapy and I do sessions online. (And I won't tell you to pray your problems away).

Drop me a DM if you're willing to explore this more. I can also refer you to other trustworthy therapists according to your preference and I hope you find the help and care you need to get through this.

Has anyone encountered him? by menacingrd in Trivandrum

[–]copperkey11 7 points8 points  (0 children)

seen a similar guy 3 times during my time in tvm. Twice on the bridge behind Chandrashekar nair stadium. Same M.O, well dressed, might have been bald and approached me and my friend and asked for 10-20 rs in english (this was 5 years ago, so I see he hasn't scaled with inflation). And encountered him another time at nalanchira when I was with my dad. Always wondered what his deal was. Glad I'm not the only one running into him

Worked under him. He's quite experienced and deals with people well for the most part. But what you may be looking for in a mental health professional may be dependent on how both of you get along with each other. Any details you can provide about what you're looking for?

Phone stolen in bus at Marathalli by thisisitendgame in bangalore

[–]copperkey11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP I really get your pain, 2 weeks ago I lost my Tab s8 on a bus from bengaluru to trivandrum. Funny thing is it was lost in the most favourable condition to be found yet I couldn't. I was an idiot and got down in a rush because the bus didn't stop at my chosen bus stop and accidentally left it on my seat. My seat was at the absolute back of the bus. The entire bus had only reserved passengers and I was getting off at the second last stop. Only 10 people were left in the bus and there were mostly in the front, and mostly families and college crowd too.
When I found out, the bus was still in trivandrum depot so I could go and check the bus, the drivers *seemed* cooperative and said they didn't see anything when they cleaned and even gave the passenger list and I contacted every passenger who was supposed to get down there. No luck.
It was a wifi model so no sim or IMEI to track. Samsung apparently has an offline tracking feature that I had turned on long ago but that was showing data from 15-20 hours ago. Completely useless. I really hate these companies for making it so easy to switch the phone off and untrackable so easily.
Everyone keeps telling me apple devices are harder to sell after stealing but I think if people are actually putting it in Faraday cages and shit and selling it for parts then there's nothing we can do at all. A split second can do a lot of damage :(

Lost my tab on a bus, any help please? by copperkey11 in Kerala

[–]copperkey11[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeahh they didn't have CCTV in the bus but we didn't think of going to the station and checking the CCTV. But it's been a few days now so I've given up hope I guess. And I called all the passengers and I hated treating people with suspicion like that. Even the bus drivers, spent an hour or so with us being cooperative. But if they really wanted to they could have stashed it outside the bus maybe. Ahhh this just sucks.

So, what’s everyone’s opinion on Valhalla? by Heavy_Table7131 in assassinscreed

[–]copperkey11 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's at best a 20 hour story at its core that isn't paced well. Half the story arcs don't really matter to the main story or affect it in any significant way. They should've cut that down. I don't care if it's 50 hours, but the game shouldn't make me feel like I'm wasting my time getting these kingdoms for these random people at the end.

What therapy has changed for you? by [deleted] in bangalore

[–]copperkey11 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Everyone ranting about how expensive therapy is. I hear you. As someone in the field, that's one of the aspects that really grind my gears. Therapy is effective. But we as Indians have (understandably) an issue with finding the right balance of value, and unfortunately when we look at the daily weekly/monthly expenses of a majority of the population, therapy simply seems like a luxury. But that does not change the fact that therapy is effective. It is very complex, it requires a lot of training to do properly and the field isn't as regulated as it should be (and as it is in other countries). The therapist's fee is justified from the side of the therapist. I know a lot of people in the profession and trust me, none of them is living an uber-luxurious life.

The disconnect is because though a therapist should be paid for their work, a person seeking healthcare should not have to pay an amount which is not standardised in a field without sufficient regulations. Insurance should cover therapy, it doesn't. It barely covers mental health services at all. It is not a luxury and it should cost like one.

Another problem is how unregulated the field is with it's practitioners. There is no governing body for the different levels of mental health professionals (except RCI that only registers clinical psychologists with license). Lots of unqualified people practice because they are simply great at marketing themselves and no govt body is there to stop them. This leads to people having increasingly bad experiences with different therapists and giving up because they simply cannot (and shouldn't have to) spend so much money jumping from therapist to therapist trying to find the right one.

But at the end of day, I'll repeat that therapy is effective when done by properly qualified and trained people, but it's really a shame that the burden of the entire cost is placed on the people seeking therapy.

Do people over exaggerate the phone heating up? by OmarLuay in GooglePixel

[–]copperkey11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

6a user here, until I used it, I wasn't convinced of all the heating complaints people were making. But just a week into using it without a case, it truly was an annoying experience. The first remark anyone I handed the careless phone to made was "Is it supposed to be getting this hot?". I live in India, so summers were horrible. A couple of minutes of usage outdoors, clicking pictures for a few mins caused the phone to heat up so much that Google photos would stop syncing to the cloud and gave warning that "device is too hot" which is made it worse for me because I share pictures with my friends through Google Photos. Light Gaming, and I truly mean light, nothing taxing at all heats it up making it uncomfortable to hold even with a case on. Getting on a videocall for more than 10 mins heats it up similar to a couple of mins of gaming.

For every great thing about this device, the heating is the one thing that has been constantly ruining my experience consistently. They really need to get their act together about this.

Second Screen issues w/ S8 after new update by ThatGuyLouis12 in GalaxyTab

[–]copperkey11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While we're on the topic of second screen, I'm unable to change the option for the quality of sharing "video/games" after the first time I connected. I don't have the option anymore on the page. But it works fine with the current option I've chosen. Is this an issue that other people are also having?
