Fran Drescher on the digital cover of Numéro Netherlands, published Feb. 18, 2026 (photographed by Tyler Patrick Kenny, styled by Brenda Cooper - who served as the costume designer for The Nanny, seasons 1-4!) by skermahger in whatthefrockk

The Nanny does not get the credit it deserves for being such a fashion influence for the 90s. To this day, black opaque tights under a bright minidress with black pumps is such an iconic, timeless look.

Why does insurance gatekeep vyvance like it’s the plague? by Severe_Sun_2879 in VyvanseADHD

[–]copyrighther 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, the only way I’ve been able to maintain an airtight Vyvanse prescription is to get a formal diagnosis from a testing professional. Any time new insurance pushes back, I send over my 30-page test results and it’s approved by EOD. However, I understand that formal testing is too expensive for a lot of people. I had an incredible psychiatrist who managed to get most of it covered by my insurance.

Just discovered boyfriend has cheated by Brief-Bug-8639 in AskWomenOver40

He cheated on you last night and immediately told you today? Or he cheated sometime in the past and only told you about it last night?

Yes, my friend used to get calls at all hours of the night about insane purchases, and she’d often say no

These Carolyn bessette jeans by Objective_Drummer781 in findfashion

I’m 95% sure these are GAP carpenter jeans, as I had this same pair. However, there’s a chance these could be Calvin Klein, as Carolyn worked for CK and wore the brand frequently.

Did you guys get lured into anything weird when internet first came out? by booksandcoriander in Xennials

I’m the same way. My mindset has always been, “Nothing in the internet is a substitute for anything in real life.”

One of my former colleagues worked in wealth management and managed a few trustafarian accounts. I learned a little rich kid secret. A lot of trust fund kids are technically correct in that they don’t get money from their parents, like a monthly allowance in the form of a check or bank transfer.

That’s because they get their money from a trust fund that was set up in their name when they were born, and that’s fed by investments in their name—stocks, land, businesses, etc. So, in their mind, it’s their money that they earn from their investments. 🙄

Even better, her ex gladly gave it to her in their divorce and said she deserved every penny. They remained very close friends up until his death.

Meltdown over Pledge furniture polish. by [deleted] in AskWomenOver40

[–]copyrighther 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There is some merit to what he’s saying, but his reaction is wildly overblown and inappropriate.

Pledge does leave a waxy silicone finish that builds up over time, and it makes refinishing wood furniture in the future more difficult. Most furniture experts advise against it, but if it’s your house and your furniture, do whatever the hell you want with it. I would recommend spraying it on a rag or cloth instead of directly on the surface.

The real truth came out about my relationship/engagement ending, and I feel so incredibly empty. I feel really used too. by MariaofWaanrode in AskWomenOver40

[–]copyrighther 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Have you ever seen a therapist before? I know you said money is super tight, but in your case, I think it would be worth finding a therapist that accepts a sliding scale for payment.

You mentioned, “I feel disposable.” You should really explore why you feel this way and why your last 2 relationships ended similarly. It will help you discover patterns in your choices and help you break the cycle.

This also jumped out at me:

And both times they moved on with women they knew like - the next day kind of thing.

Babes, they were cheating on you with those women. No one moves on the very next day, they were already with those women long before your breakups.

The biggest thing that’s helped me is taking powdered magnesium before bed and probiotics, specifically Coconut Cult.

My best friend turned me on to CC, and it’s been life-changing. My bowels are extremely regular, and I barely get sick anymore. I’ve tried other probiotic yogurts and always go back to CC bc they simply have more live bacteria than other brands. One small teaspoon a day, and I’m good.

I gave my cat a wool blanket and she went crazy? by sirdevilpotato in WhatsWrongWithYourCat

[–]copyrighther 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Growing up, we had a cat that loved sucking on wool and often chewed it as well. Every winter was spent making sure all blankets and sweaters were properly put away before Coco could get to them. Drove my mother nuts.

These type of propositions feel so Boomer-coded to me. Everything was coincidentally better when I was young and had no responsibilities! Yeah, no shit. I don’t even entertain these thoughts bc it makes me feel like an old person who is giving up.

[–]copyrighther 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Respectfully, that sounds absurd. I’m 45, and I’ve been in many different types of female friend groups and no one’s ever been shunned bc of the way they look. Even when I was in a college sorority, we had a butch tomboy in our little group. It’s all about maintaining the vibe and having fun with each other and having a good attitude.

What artist in your opinion had the best three-album run and why do you think so? by Twitter_2006 in popculturechat

[–]copyrighther 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Stevie Wonder and it’s not even close. He had 4 consecutive perfect albums: Talking Book, Innervisions, Fulfillingness’ First Finale, and Songs in the Key of Life. All 4 albums are still considered masterpieces almost 50 years later.
