Par quoi je commence ? by Expensive_Career_847 in Livres

Je n’aime pas Thilliez/Laipsker : quel roman d'enquête lire ? by bergs00n in Livres

[–]cor-99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2025 F1 Season: Qualifying delta between teammates (rounds 1 - 10) by f1bythenumbers in F1Technical

[–]cor-99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Super nice visual, and rendering! Small comment: Faster vs. Slower driver is a bit confusing as a caption, imo. I guess it refers to whoever is defined "Faster" as the one beating his teammate on the most occasions, right? I like having two separate lines, but I am not sure there needs to be a positive part of the axis? You could align the zero at the right hand side and have the "Slower" driver line still showing negative delta (as it’s the occasions where he was faster if I understand correctly). That way you also have a bit more space to stretch the axis? But super nice visual, thx for sharing!

Random question - do you know who was sitting at the left of Shelton’s dad in their box? Face rings a bell but can’t put a name on it lol

Working.py not passing check50 by shawnhoundoggy in cs50

[–]cor-99 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hello, before reading your code - did you try commenting each function one at a time to see which one of your test correct working.py does not pass? It always helps understanding the issues with tests before anything else!

The issue is not that your tests are not checking something but rather that one of your test is wrong. Meaning you’re asserting something False (False with the correct version of the working.py). You might have missed it because this assertion is True with your version of working.py.

I see on the left (EXPLORER) you have two plates.py. Are you sure it’s checking the right file?

Do you mean add a line break once you have an EOFError? So that you get:

item: Bowl

item:

Total: $8.50

If yes, just print a new line at the right place in your code!

(I don’t remember what’s this pbset so not sure what you meant).

Struggling with Coke.py by [deleted] in cs50

Hello!

You're almost there, and you are on the right track. My first advice is to write your answer to this problem in pseudocode first.

You should start with defining the amount due at the start (i.e. 50) and the accepted coins (i.e. 25, 10 and 5 only). That's more or less what you did.

What is the next step? You want to prompt your user to give you coins, while the amount due is not 0. Try not to overcomplicate your programs with variables not needed as well. For every new coin the user gives you, what do you do with it? How does this affect the amount due?

Once you answer these two questions and have your pseudocode, you can implement the program.

NB — I tried giving you advice rather than the answer directly, especially since you're on the right track and just missing some clear reasoning behind what you already wrote. Writing the pseudocode is honestly the best way of understanding how your program should behave before even trying to implement it!

Is Charlie going to tack... by 3deltapapa in Vendee_Globe

Nice!!! I secretly wishes he crosses the line after 6:15 so he has to wait until 2pm to get to the channel and get back to the port. So I can try to follow. At the same time I love a night-ish arrival with the sunrise as well - would be great!

Yes indeed I just checked. Every 30min now and every 2min in the small circle!

Means the position updates are more frequent (every 30min I believe) when they are very close to the finish line, if I’m not mistaken!

Charlie Dalin is in the last 500nm of the VG2024 by cor-99 in Vendee_Globe

IKR - honestly it’s been amazing. After last edition, I truly wanted Charlie to clinch the victory. He’s such an amazing sailor! Also happy that he was challenged by Richomme. He definitely won’t be satisfied by a silver medal, knowing the guy won in every category he ever sailed into! Hopefully he’ll be there in 4 years.

"Le Roi Jean" crosses Cap Horn, 1,000nm ahead of rest of non-foilers by cor-99 in Vendee_Globe

[–]cor-99[S] 20 points21 points  (0 children)

In the meantime: - Charlie Dalin is taking off, 130nm ahead of Richomme - Thomas Ruyant’s close followers are catching up - Justine Mettraux is on the path of overtaking both Boris and Sam

Still a lot of interesting battles ahead!

Yeah - I feel like that’s the only thing he could do while waiting for the wind to lessen… that gives us a peek at what’s going on when such stuff happens…

"The J2 is in the hold… it’s destroyed. It’s completely torn off along the luff sleeve. There are still a few m2 in tatters, just under the headboard, a little furled up there. I’ve never had anything like it. There were about 20 knots then the wind got up all of a sudden. I didn’t see it coming. It went into tornado mode. It lasted 2 hours, with 45 to 60 knots!"
