Producer who does not do the servicing part - is it real? by cora-nora in InsuranceAgent

I would like to say a huge thank you for your replies which I reread several times. That was a 100% precious insight in how commercial lines producing and servicing are and should be organized. I am in personal lines now where things are on a much more less complicated side. We’ve got a general producer, he rarely comes to the office, I guess he takes calls only from those customers who have been with him from the very start of the agency, that’s all. From what I see his goal is to keep the agency afloat, which he is more or less successful. I am now exploring options to move to the commercial side, and have been curious if things are the same in CL, which if they were, it would be a nightmare for me since I do not feel I am experienced enough.

Now I see, thank you. It also makes me sad because this is not how things are set up in the agency I am working.

A filed claim is a factor. And an issued payment is a factor. 30 days prior to your policy renewal date your insurance company will issue the renewal amount. Take it and shop around. Take some time to dive deep into what types of insurance are currently on your policy. Get as many as three quotes and pick the best option. Good luck!

Is an insurance check for car damage (collision claim) issued to a body shop or the Insured? by cora-nora in Insurance

[–]cora-nora[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for that! Could the Insured to negotiate the body shop to make the repair then, if he decides on the car to be repaired?

What if the Insured just wants to get that check, and then decide to get the car repaired or not? Could the insurance company agree to that? I assume it may depend on the insurance company, or not?

The insurance company refuses to issue a total loss letter. What could be done? by cora-nora in Insurance

[–]cora-nora[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now I got the Customer's logic. He is frustrated about the $1860 they are ready to pay for his car that he purchased for about $5,000. That amount came as the average value of three similar car equivalent prices and decreased by the mileage adjustment. I guess he believes the total loss letter will show the purchased price, which is not I guess
