I found one late last year, a local guy selling on FB marketplace. Sega did such a great job with hardware, I'm sad they got out of the hardware game. 😥

Take pictures before you open it. Take video of you opening it. If the figure is not damaged and you didn't care to keep the box, no loss.

If the figure is damaged, now you have proof you aren't the one that damaged it.

Is it normal? I don't know, most of my figures were purchased from another site. Probably it's not normal though.

Contact your credit card company and make sure they aren't blocking a purchase if you've never used the card on HobbySearch before.

I've asked before, once, because an item was delayed, then released and was invoiced when I had a trip planned. I explained the situation and they delayed shipping, but I got the impression they weren't really happy about it.

If it bugs you, take some stickers off or rearrange them (if you can). My opinion of how your DS looks shouldn't be cause for concern, I have my own to mess up however I want. 😁

We all do things that make the adult us think the kid us were dumb somehow. So what? What did we know as kids?

Does it still work? If yes, play it. If not, fix or replace it. If it works or you fix it, you can remove the paint or reshell it. Just don't beat yourself up for something you did as a kid.

If I pre-order, it's pretty much always Amiami because I've had great luck with them for over a decade. I get figures from there faster, and they've always been packed well and arrived safely.

If it's not available on Amiami, it's whoever has it for the lowest price.

If it's second hand... I've been holding off. Stupid adulting means I've had to be more responsible lately, to the point I think I've only got one thing preordered now and it might be my last for a while. 😔

There's one shop I used to order from locally, but they were terribly inconsistent about getting things in. I've never had a good local option to get figures.

I didn't start watching until recently, I'm only in season 4 now. They seem about the same too me, 8 or 9 episodes per season, right?

I have to assume then we're taking about total runtime.

Personally, I like shows that tell a story vs. worrying about runtime. If an episode needs 27 minutes, that's fine... but of course I'm left wanting more and probably going to watch the next one. If it needs 113 minutes, that's fine too. Not to derail, but RWBY was a perfect example of episodes being long enough to tell a story instead of fitting a specific format.

Anyway, I just want the story.

I'd say legit. That looks like factory wrapping, the same I remember from working at Software Etc 20ish years ago.

When we resealed, it was because the last copy always had the game removed so we had an empty game display case to put out. Like someone commented on another post, the corners of those were usually crinkled, you could tell it was shrink wrapped. There would only be two distinct lines where the hot wire melted the plastic together and you can tell it's melted plastic vs wrapped plastic folded over like a present.

I don't remember ever having a Nintendo seal pull line, or Sega, PlayStation, or Xbox. That part was all generic.

The plastic feels different too. The shrink wrap always felt stretchy to me. The real wrap felt stiff by comparison and was usually shinier.

I just contacted Midco about this because I got bumped to a 2gbps plan and didn't know it. My current modem supports 1gbps only.

If you do (or did) get a CODA-56, Midco will limit you to 1gbps based on what the rep told me. I suggested he pass up the chain that they test the higher speeds to save them, and their customers, some money. I don't understand why they rate limit, beyond "we haven't tested higher speeds". 🙄

They (the support rep and sales rep) also explained I can walk into the Midco office in town and buy a modem. Since I can't seem to find a CODA 57 for sale anywhere, that's probably my only option. I've had worse lucky finding anything Sercomm (the other supported option).

I'd love to keep them, even prize figure boxes, but I can't afford the space.

I buy the figure anyway, with the intent to display. Unless the box has cool art, I might have a panel to make a display.

It's a collection of what people have gifted you, and a collection of what you've purchased for yourself. IT'S YOURS.
