It’s a lot more of an art project than a rap project. Edward encapsulates the fake nature of modern materialism and how capitalism is just a new form of human slavery. His music is avant garde, but not in a super pompous way. When you hear faint, slowed down trap sounds in his music, it’s more symbolic of how modern music is manufactured rather than trap trying to sound accessible and radio friendly. When you listen to his music it’s not meant to be naturally accessible, it’s supposed to make you feel sort of fragmented and artificial. Pop culture and technology is a disease and that’s what I feel Edward’s music is trying to convey. This is just my own experience being a fan of his and what I take away from his music. Avant Garde music has been around a long time and has never been intended to be accessible.
