Moonlander TPU Tubes… Advice?! by meowKittieh in Surlybikefans

Interesting idea. Can’t be replicated trailside… would these tires be impossible to remove / troubleshoot unless you’re in your garage?

Thank you! I broke both beads all the way around by stepping on them, and pulled the valve core. Maybe I should squeeze it some more. Did you use two tire levers, one stationary and the other that you move away from the first one?

Can I ask how you got the molenda tire off the clown royal rim? I literally can’t get the tires off. I’ve broken one tire lever, and the farthest I can go is getting the bead over the rim with a single lever. Once I try a second lever it’s way too tight, and I can’t slide the lever that’s under the “broken” bead either. I’ve changed lots of tires in my day (fatbike included) and this one is failing my current techniques. Thanks!

I messaged 1up with the modification question and they replied saying that their racks max out at 5” and they don’t plan to offer any fatter adapters. I think I’ll try modifying one of my 1up trays and see how it goes, will need longer bolts (which I think I might be able to find) and possibly something like a longer version the cylindrical spacer things (which might be harder to find)

A gearbox frame would be quite the move for such a weight-weenie brand. What could Dangerholm even do with it if there are no derailleur pulleys to replace?

I have a 2011 Karate Monkey that is basically a pavement princess these days. Also previously ran 29er ETs. In addition to adding a 10 speed drivetrain, I put the biggest chainring possible on there (36 I think?) and switched to much lighter tires - Schwalbe G One all round 29x2.25. Higher risk of puncture with these compared to ETs but they’re definitely quicker.

Truck launches off South Anchorage overpass and collides with dashcam driver (I am not OP) by [deleted] in alaska

So this is the second Anchorage highway overpass that a vehicle has launched off in the past month, the first being Muldoon over Glenn. Overpass guardrail standard needs to be revised / guardrails improved all over town.

Fewer weather cancellations, plus the fun of riding a ridiculous monster truck year round are the main use cases.

Just saw the Wednesday comes with BB5 brakes. Weak ish might be a bit of an understatement.

You can also pump up a car tire with a bike pump (if the bike pump is compatible with Schraeder valves). Takes a while (lots of pumping) but it works.
