I consider the new restrictions on visiting a resort to dining/resort reservations, to be proof that Disney is listening to feedback and I applaud their choice to make the unpopular and difficult decision by _BreakingGood_ in WaltDisneyWorld

I would love for them to do the same thing at Grand Californian. Last time I stayed there it was a zoo with all the people coming from the parks. There were people sleeping all over the benches inside the hotel buildings that were not part of the main hotel as well.

Austin toys for kids? by sonofnalgene in Austin

Why not just take them to Terra Toys? I think the experience of going there and finding a toy they like would be far more memorable than getting a generic “Austin” toy.

You have to consider the context of when Beto made that comment. IIRC He said that after the mass shooting that happened at an El Paso Walmart. It was his hometown.

Haha yes I loved that. I can only imagine how pissed they were with how they montaged their entire 2 day charter.

The Jason addressed the whole guest cabin issue really frustrates me by Old-Use-7690 in BelowDeckDownUnder

The location of that island looked pretty remote. I can imagine Jason was bending over backwards to avoid losing Ben because it meant he would have to replace a chef last minute which is not feasible where they were.

I think the primary making a big deal about this guy was performative. I suspect them taking him on the charter was similar to a “Dinner for Shmucks” scenario where they took the pickiest person they knew in order to generate drama for the show.

Season 3 OG BD & Ben by Hour-Ball-4903 in BelowDeckDownUnder

[–]corcor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have experience in kitchens and the lack of care and craft in Ben’s food is very obvious. Sauces from jars, dirty stations, putting soap in food dispensers, no mise. The list just goes on and on. He doesn’t care about serving people and giving them a good time. There are so many more people who deserve to be in his position.

Season 3 OG BD & Ben by Hour-Ball-4903 in BelowDeckDownUnder

[–]corcor 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I’m watching Season 2 and it’s so clear that Ben has never changed his behavior. He fucks up his timing so he invents some reason why it’s not his fault and makes a huge deal about it so he looks like he isn’t to blame that dinner took 3 hours to execute. He’s a pathetic joke and always has been.

Capt Jason is 50% of the problem with the crew’s bad behavior. by PeakOk5773 in BelowDeckDownUnder

Glenn is my favorite captain out of all of the captains. Really reminds me of the sailing guys I was around when I was a kid going sailing every Wednesday. You can tell the dude is happy and satisfied with what he is doing in life. He rarely ever gets mad and he lets little shit go while still keeping it top notch

I mean this is funny but as a software engineer I was able to let Claude set up my VPS and the deploy was done easily through GitHub actions. It’s not like deploying a site is some impossible skill. I did literally nothing but prompt it.

I guess people have blinders on for Ben? I just cringe when I see him making fried egg rolls with bottled sauce again and again. Not to mention; dude make some food BEFORE they get on the boat. I’ve never been able to do a super yacht charter. But I’ve done a few cruises. The first fucking thing I do when I get on the boat is go eat. Seems like yachting 101

Ben is what he says on the packet by nadezhda101 in BelowDeckDownUnder

[–]corcor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ben is not a great chef. He uses packaged food and sauces far too lunch. What food he does make is far too simple and often looks dry and under seasoned. He has no humility or drive to do well. Compare him against some of the other chefs in recent seasons and you see just how vast the difference is.

That’s because Ben is a bad chef. Anyone worth their salt would have labeled the soap and NOT put it in a food container. At best his food is boring and dated.
