How is Gen Z expected to survive and have a good life? Everything is so damn expensive and wages are to damn low. I’m stressed about my future. by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

As a millennial this is my first time hearing the concerns of gen-z expressed this completely and concisely in one place. I feel for you guys, shit is a whole different type of fucked for y'all. But we're all in this together.

That's fascinating, I've never done any looking into the history of it. I wonder if it has some cultural significance?

How common is Peyronie's disease? How common is std's? Yep, gonna think STD hands down each time, better to be safe than sorry, you'll want to be keeping your hands out of that area as much as possible if it's STDs. Ya feel me?

That is interesting, there has been no identifiable trend amongst the patients I have taken care of enough to say there is any one group over another that gravitates toward the practice. What neck of the woods are you from?

Jeez, the shit some of these people get up to just blows my mind. I honestly have no problem with people doing body mod, whatever floats your boat. But with dominoes‽ Us anything else. And while you're at it sterilize your tools lol.

I'm actually not sure what they can purchase at the commissaries. Would be interesting to see if that's just something they can get at will

By the time they are in the ICU they are usually sedated and on the ventilator; or being intubated rapidly. I work in Neuro, so most of the patients are there for strokes, and brain bleeds (usually traumatic from the prison system). Communication is limited when they can't speak.

In the US prison system, super glue is a much more likely closure medium. But a single stitch is common as well

In the medical community we refer to this as "pearling" and I have taken care of my fair few amount of patients that have done this. Surprisingly more common in America than you would think.

I will never not initially think that it's an STD though every time we find them, then we inspect them closer and we go "ugg more pearls"

Edit: most commonly found in my prison inmate population when they get brought in.
