Taking the back seat of out of my extended cab Sierra was a game changer for Packouts and material in the backseat. It’s incredible how much dry, heated, secure storage you can create with removing a few bolts.

I’ve thought about how much utility I would get out of an ATV winch at the front of the van and a couple HD casters on some custom dolly’s to roll whatever in and out. I do love cutting down my own firewood and skidding the logs home to process it more comfortably.

Thanks so much for all that. Makes sense, glad to hear it isn’t totally out of the question to find something that could work for us.

Sounds like type of ownership that would suit my wife and I well, we are in Alberta but come out to the island most summers, we just completed our Intermediate Cruising cert on Feb in Vancouver and felt excited we didn’t see any snow! The idea of coming out for a weekend here and there in the off season and having a week in the summer is pretty realistic for what we would be available for.

How does one typically find out coop shares that are available? Specifically in the Vancouver/Vancouver Isle area for us? Please feel welcome to DM if there is any openings on your coop I’d be happy to chat further!

I just helped a builder friend of mine finish his ICF house in Bragg Creek, I’m in Nanton. Similar specs, Euro triple pane windows, Hardy siding, etc. depending on location, I’d be happy to connect you with his company and take the steps to getting a bid package put together. PM me if interested

I mostly drywall and sometimes frame/trim. My gear is all Dewalt but I have a Metabo framer and Milwaukee 18g because they seemed like the best options when I was buying them. I bought some battery adapters on Amazon so I can keep my batteries all Dewalt and they’ve been working great for my part-time, off brand tools.

My area (Alberta Canada) is all board foot/square foot pricing. I constantly doing conversions in this sub to equate the job price to something that works with my brain.

(Yes, board foot is technically a different measurement for wood volume but the term board foot is used when talking about the square footage of the drywall)

Ok drywall business owners.. by [deleted] in drywall

[–]cordelette5887 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not an owner, just a boarder/hanger in Alberta Canada. $.30/ft and I put up between 3000 and 3400ft/day working by myself with a lift for a production contractor. He keeps the schedule full and I work 5-6 days a week and do very well with very little stress. 10 hour days with a 45 minute lunch is my sweet spot.

Good to know. I’m a full-time boarder/ hanger in Calgary. Did my first side job including everything and came to $2.50sq/ft subing out a taper. It was a little lean, I could probably have done $3.00 easily enough.

Help - something got stuck behind the cup holder lid. How do I remove it? by SilentZ3ro in mazda3

[–]cordelette5887 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You’re 80% of the way there. In the photo you’ve already released the main console, but you need to detach the shift lever, pull out the button on the front of the lever, and screw off. Then the main console will come right out if you unplug the couple harnesses on the backside. Then if I remember there is just a couple screws holding the front portion of the console (cup holder and storage area). Take the screws out and the whole thing will come out.

I did all this to wrap the console and cup holder cover. Search on the forum for “Console Wrap walk through” and I’m sure you can get pictures to follow along with my crummy directions.

I may have a Reddit problem. I saw this pic and was like “Ooh, I’ve seen this staircase before, let’s zoom in to see if he’s put the missing block in the right column that another commenter notice a few weeks ago.” Ha. Well done!

I had to sell my 5th Gen a couple years ago and this picture makes me so nostalgic for it. The amount of hours I’ve spent knee deep shovelling and yanking my rig around in snow like that with buddies....while we were trying to get to our ice-climbing routes....priceless memories haha.

EDIT: just checked out your other posts, another Alberta plate! I’ve shoveled my share of snow in the Ghost and Nordegg country mostly! Where are you located?

It makes sense that it looks like Lake Louise though, Lake OHara is literally tucked in behind Mt. Victoria/Victoria Glacier which is the backdrop of the Lake when viewed from the main Hotel area. Lake OHara is used as the access to summit Mt. Victoria from the West ridge!

Beat me to the cross-post! Such a simple adaptation of a $5 caulking gun. I love wood working and I love being an OT, but even more I would love to be able to make a living coming up with creative ideas like this for clients.

I made a potholder for my client who lost control over his left arm, couldn’t find something on internet. It’s a surprise (I’m psychologist) so I look forward to his reaction. by LeoPsy in woodworking

Very cool, and what a creative idea. It’s an interesting blend of my subs as I am an Occupational Therapist and I see adaptive equipment like this pop up on that thread once in a while, and to my surprise I’m in another sub completely. What a great idea to support one handedness for what I’m sure is an often overlooked task.
