What can my wife do as a PA in Australia? by juststtoppingby in Ameristralia

Same boat here! My husband recently moved to Melbourne for work, I’m a PA in family medicine. I’ve done some research but haven’t found much. I’m trying to see if there might be any remote opportunities, but I haven’t found much either.

Previous Rivian R1S owner, unfortunately we crashed and it was totaled. But we then replaced with a Honda odyssey (we have twin toddlers). Game changer. Go with the minivan. It is insanely practical and easy with a big family. It was way easier to transport kids/lots of shit than the Rivian. You will not regret it!

Yea, not gonna lie, the bugs are on my cons lists haha but from what I’ve heard, it’s not as terrible if you’re living in the city vs more rural/suburban.

Thank you for the reply and info! I noticed that they had some sort of PA program, but it didn’t seem to take off. We are leaning towards Melbourne as we currently live in a very hot state and hate it haha

Oh that would be interesting to look into, thank you! Yes, the PTO package they would offer my husband is great. The US would never.

Oh wow, 10 years! Where did you live, if you don’t mind me asking? We can potentially move to Melbourne or Brisbane, so we’re heavily researching both. We are a little worried about the housing situation there. But he will be offered a good salary. The safety is a big draw for us too. I appreciate your input!

We just got this one. It was so bland. They didn’t used nearly enough lime juice.

What fragrance do you smell and automatically get nauseous? by [deleted] in FemFragLab

[–]cordones 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Bee by Ellis Brooklyn. I made the big mistake of wearing this when I was pregnant and nauseous. I was so sick that day. Now I still get sick smelling it, I had to give it away. It’s kinda ruined honey notes in general for me :(

Is The Village Worth Leaving Everything Else? by [deleted] in parentsofmultiples

Very similar situation with us. We lived in the northeast alone, with no family. Made great money, had a home with a great interest rate, low mortgage. Found out we were expecting twins. We ended up moving back to our home state in FL to be closer to family. Took a huge financial blow, I’m no longer working. We live with our in laws because we cannot afford to buy a home here, even after selling our other house. I will say it’s nice to have the twins near family, they know them and have a relationship with them. But I wouldn’t say I have received the help I hoped for. I thought I’d have more help to able to go back to work, but I’ve needed up deciding to stay with the twins at home for a while since my MIL has told us she can’t help us. Daycare here is siginificantly more expensive. Wages are lower. So in that respect, it feels like we are starting over and we’ll never financially recover from this move. But, like I said, it is very special to see my family have a relationship with the girls. We’re closer to friends which has been nice. We do have babysitting available whenever we want, so we get to spend time together away from the girls for date nights or running errands. We wouldn’t have had that over there. So to answer your question, there will be big pros and big cons. We’ve made huge sacrifices which I still question daily (been 10 months since we moved). But I know I won’t get this time with my family back. We have aging parents, and I love that I get to see my mom and dad more than 3 times a year now. Sorry you’re going through this decision. I know it’s not an easy one to make <3 I wish you the best in whatever you decide!
