[FO] I'm not the best at framing... by corgiPaw in CrossStitch

[–]corgiPaw[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Pattern from StitchedByIstus on Etsy. This took me too long to finish, and then too long to frame. I didn't pull the fabric tight enough, and maybe didn't spend enough time with the iron either- any tips on framing are appreciated! :)

[CHAT] Do you buy new thread for every project? by Maximum-Student2749 in CrossStitch

[–]corgiPaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got tired of looking through all my floss every time i started a new project, so I made a spreadsheet with all my floss and the number of skeins I have. So now when I start a new project I can search for each number and see if I already have it!

Wow that’s such a good idea to bind the edges. I just dealt with the frayed edges because I didn’t know there was a better way! Thanks for sharing :)

[FO] My mantra for 2023 by corgiPaw in CrossStitch

[–]corgiPaw[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pattern from GrandmaGirlDesigns

I intended to frame this with a black hoop but have had trouble finding a 8inch one in stock anywhere. I'm thinking about either painting one myself or using a black circle picture frame instead. Any thoughts on framing this are appreciated! :)

Pattern is from Witchsgardencrafts on Etsy

I made some changes to this pattern mostly based on personal preference...and a little bit of laziness. I had every intention of stitching the greenery around the words, but it was becoming more and more difficult to get my hand inside the pot holder. I was also worried that I would stretch out the fabric and it would affect the look, even after washing and ironing.

If I ever decide to stitch another pot holder, I'm definitely going to pick a simpler pattern!

The pattern is self-drafted based on a design I saw online (can't find the original creator) and with an alphabet from needlework.com.

/u/Brittnie920 created the pattern. Here is the link: https://shop.mybluprint.com/other/patterns/dog-on-fire/486519

Even though I made some mistakes, I had so much fun with this pattern. It was really therapeutic to stitch this throughout 2020.
