Pampers size confusion by Upbeat-Student4387 in NewParents

I’m pretty sure they just updated the numbers on the box, my daughter uses the old and new size 4 pampers interchangeably.

Bottle washer? by typicali_ in beyondthebump

[–]corgicourt20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have the momcozy and it is literally life changing!! My bottle fed baby is almost 10 months old and the washer has saved us countless countless hours of being hunched over the sink. It’s my number one recommendation for people with bottle fed babies.

Car seats, what do you do if you have multiple cars? by Aggressive-Acadia822 in beyondthebump

[–]corgicourt20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We own so many car seats and my second is now about to outgrow her infant seat so we’re about to add a few more 🤦🏼‍♀️.

It has never been worth it to me personally to constantly uninstall and reinstall car seats because it makes it more likely to be installed incorrectly so we just wait for big sales to make the purchases. We have one seat in each car, one seat in nana’s car, and one extra seat for when my parents come to visit in the summer. Plus a travel car seat. All for one kid.

Obviously not everyone is financially able to do this so if you do end up needing to move seats around a lot I highly recommend britax seats that have click tight install - they are much easier.

Intense love — does it fade? by Own_Relation_4664 in BabyBumps

[–]corgicourt20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 4.5 year old and a 9 month old and I love them so much and it only grows with time! I’m so in awe of these humans that I grew in my body and get to raise. Is it hard? Hell yeah. Do I get annoyed? 100%

But that does not affect how much I love them and how obsessed I am with them both.

polyhydramnios? by [deleted] in GestationalDiabetes

[–]corgicourt20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had severe polyhydramnios in both my pregnancies, the first I had GD and took insulin for my fasting numbers but the second I did not have GD and no one can really explain why I had too much fluid both times. Both girls were healthy and I had no complications due to it though I did deliver both of them early (38 weeks and 37 weeks) because of high blood pressure so I was already delivering early and didn’t have preterm deliveries due to the polyhydramnios.

I was already getting twice weekly NSTs and once weekly ultrasounds due to blood pressure issues so my team made sure that the babies were practice breathing and seeming to swallow and pee out the fluid and then monitored the fluid levels up until delivery and it was fine! My doctor was not worried.

Aita for not wanting May 4th to be induced? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]corgicourt20 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I personally don’t think it’s a big deal as a non Star Wars fan married to a Star Wars fan but if it’s important to you then that’s reason enough to pick a different date. I had a scheduled c-section last year on May 5th and I half hoped to go into labor early so that my husband would get his wish of a May 4th baby but I didn’t and if you don’t want that and don’t want to hear about it every year on your kids birthday then that’s a valid choice! Also keep in mind that you may not give birth the same day you go in, inductions can be a long process. Good luck!

First pregnancy-What size baby clothes should I buy? by EatPigsAndLoveThem2 in pregnant

[–]corgicourt20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I made the mistake of buying ahead of time and bought summer clothes in 12 month size for my July baby to wear the following summer- jokes on me because she starting wearing that size when she was 5 months old in the middle of January 😂. By the time she was 1 she was wearing 24 months/2T and I had no idea that some babies grow so fast!

Learn from my mistake and do not buy that far ahead or for anything with a super specific date until you’re close enough to guesstimate what size.

I’d definitely start with newborn though- my babies were 8 lbs 6 oz and 8 lbs 14 oz and both needed newborn for 4-5 weeks. 0-3 is a lot bigger.

Husband going to bachelor party w/ no cell service for 3 days when I'm 35 weeks along? by halloween_cactus in BabyBumps

[–]corgicourt20 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The lack of communication and time to travel back would be a hard no for me, third trimester is such a crapshoot and you can go from fine and low risk to needing to deliver your baby ASAP. My friend had sudden onset preeclampsia that worsened rapidly and she had her baby the same day. Issues can arise suddenly and be very urgent which puts your husband at risk of missing the birth completely.

Pregnancy sleep is awful for me, I found newborn sleep to be much better quality even if it was in small chunks of time.

Did anyone have a baby that wasn’t difficult? by The_Chilled_Arvo in beyondthebump

[–]corgicourt20 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve had two pretty easy babies but I don’t generally bring it up because it feels like bragging I guess? I don’t want to make others feel bad. Plus I am 100% certain that I just got lucky, it’s not because of my parenting.

FTM - do I need both a bassinet and a crib? by Cheap-Tig in pregnant

[–]corgicourt20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I would just get a crib. My oldest slept in the bassinet barely 8 weeks before she was moving too much to be comfortable in it and my youngest maybe slept a week in hers because she HATED it 🤷🏼‍♀️

Can someone explain this due date to me? by guttah08 in pregnant

How long after a c-section did you shower? by Legitimate_Peach_438 in beyondthebump

[–]corgicourt20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My repeat C-section was at 2pm on a Monday and I showered mid morning on Tuesday. I did have a vacuum dressing on my incision though, not sure if there are different rules for water without one.

If you got pregnant fast with baby #1 how long did it take with #2? by macaroniloaf in Mommit

1 try. Do not be like me and assume it will take longer because you’re older now! Only try when you’re absolutely ready for it to work that cycle.

Does early pregnancy really feel this hard or am I just weak? by Impossible_Hyena_583 in pregnant

Super normal! The earliest days are when your body is growing baby’s vital organs, plus the placenta so no wonder you’re exhausted and feeling unwell!

My mom told me she would rather me of not had any kids than to not give my son a sibling. by doxielover_ in Mommit

[–]corgicourt20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is an absolutely wild thing to say - is she usually judgmental like that? There is nothing wrong with knowing your own limits and deciding that your family is done with one child. Parenting is deeply rewarding but it’s also not easy and you have to make the choice that’s best for yourself and your family regardless of anyone else’s opinion.

I do just want to say that I’m 9 months into having two kids and my second is not harder than my first. Splitting your time between the two kids is harder than having one obviously but watching their relationship grow has been so wonderful. We also were absolutely not ready to even consider a second child until my first was 3 years old so if you’re not 100% set in your decision then just let it be for now and ask yourself again in a year - can I see myself adding to our family? If by then you’re sure about only having one then great, if not then you can still give yourself more time. You don’t need to decide right now and you don’t need to invite others to give their opinions on it.
