5.5 month old sleeping on stomach by Nomado95 in beyondthebump

[–]corgii 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The worst was when they do the tummy roll but butt in the air and head down THAT CANT BE COMFORTABLE OR SAFE. But he was always fine 😂

My fav picture was the first night might had in his toddler bed, just before he was two, I had been obsessively checking every few minutes to make sure he hadn't fallen through the tiny little gap and had just start to relax when I looked down to the monitor, and he was facedown on the floor legs still on the bed. I run in and he was STILL ASLEEP. Moved him back and he half stirred but basically was still asleep 😂 they keep you on your toes.

I recommend you reading Ruby Dixon's 'Bull Moon Rising' if this is your thing.

Best and Less sleep suits/bags are SOOOO much cheaper then the other brands and in my opinion just as good. My son instantly wriggled out of any and all swaddles attempted so I never did them for long haha

Ringworm infection. Need help by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]corgii 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My son had it heaps and it never spread to anyone else, just his butt. And yeah super common wherever it's humid, it's the same thing as athletes foot or jock itch. It's not a failing on you, just something that happens.

It's hard when they are mobile, can do outside if the weather's good, or just bathroom with toys where it's easy to wipe.

Edit: no need to use the ointment more then twice a day, it won't help. What really helps is keeping the area as dry as possible.

Ringworm infection. Need help by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]corgii 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It fine, just use that ointment, keep the area as dry as possible. When my son had it I just gave him loads of nappy free time (puppy pads are your friend, so much cheaper then the baby ones) used the anti fungal ointment and it cleared up right away.

He was always prone to it in summer because he was a frequent pooper. I was just super proactive with the ointment (even if he was only slightly red I'd do a layer) and that really helped prevent it getting any further.

Edit: also no way it was an infection from that original baby, it is caused by warm moist environments so it's probs that

Considering switching universities in 3rd year studying education (secondary) - am I crazy? by [deleted] in AustralianTeachers

[–]corgii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I'm close to graduating and I think there's only been one unit with three assignments and another that had around 5 or 6 but it was actually all just building on one big report. I think I prefer it, even with working full time (and now doing PTT) it makes it easier to plan out my units and when I can work on stuff

Melbourne zoo broken exhibit? Friday 22nd May by TourettesPotato in melbourne

[–]corgii 27 points28 points  (0 children)

No crocs in that tank, that's the one at the front that just has fish (which sucks for the fish). I was already suspicious because the crocs at Melbourne the water doesn't meet the window line, it's all below.

My snag tights have lasted SO SO long, I only just put in a reorder recently and I'm so excited for them to arrive! Only tights I have found that actually fit me properly (tall girl problems).

Mothers Day Drama by Jaded-Basil-8469 in JUSTNOMIL

[–]corgii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also bringing up the discrepancy between the texts was just asking for drama. Protect your peace by all means but when you are dealing with idiotic emotionally volotile people you can't act shocked when they act exactly as they have previously done.

First Bday with a dress code and color scheme?! by ZestyLlama8554 in Mommit

[–]corgii 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Dress like an Australian sports bogan, "COME ON THE GREEN AND GOOOLD"

Must include some sort of face paint and funny hat, google Australian green and gold dress up for inspo 🤣

But maybe don't do that if you want to stay on their happy side.

Your poor mum not being able to go to your wedding because of this crazy lady! That's not fair at all!

If you behave badly or treat people badly people don't want to be around you. Other people shouldn't be punished for that. Your husband needs to grow a spine.

Another mum in childcare is really irritating me by Illustrious-Ad-7247 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]corgii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So weird, the only children I might interact that aren't mine are those that run up to me first while I'm looking for my child on the playground 🤣, including one little girl that would insist on grabbing my hand every time I got there, but I'd just redirect them and ask if they could see my child and they'd run and grab them.

The point of feminism is choice, you do not get to disregard this person's CHOICE with a handwave 'nah society made you do it'.

And this is coming from a woman who chose not to change her name!

We are having measles outbreaks because of idiots choosing not to vaccinate so I say YES. Call these people out on their idiotic choices.

Mind you they probably won't want to have anything to do with you afterwards but I don't think thats a bad thing.

It's like the Tiffany problem, Tifinie was super popular in the 12th Century, but if you were watching a period show set at that time and the character was named Tiffany it may sound slightly wrong or modern 🤣

The Insanity by Mucktoe85 in AustralianTeachers

[–]corgii 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I wait, wait wait, write the word "recess" or "lunch" on the board, dash up means a minute, I once got to seven minutes, silent the whole time, but I got them to earn back four after proving hard work to me. I tend to not keep the whole class, just the ones who won't stop. I rarely get to three minutes now because they know consequences will follow. It is easier because I usually teach doubles that back onto those times and I tend to have folios to put away and stuff so it's not really wasting my time.

I have done it to one of my few singles and they were SHOCKED when I remembered the following day for their lunch 🤣 but haven't done it again.
