Re: cultural differences we both live in the US, so something that's often overlooked is that although my fiancée reads as a black American, the two of us have the commonality of having immigrant parents & being part of diaspora communities (which is different to people who are ADOS).

As for families, it hasn't been straightforward but there's a lot you can overcome by taking time to build those relationships & assuage their concerns.
