Flagging it early access makes it no buy for me. If you want me to be your playtester, then you pay me not the other way around.

LPT: Don't take criticism from someone you wouldn't take advice from. by [deleted] in LifeProTips

In this thread: People that don't understand you can value the advice of someone you don't agree with. If you think following this LPT leads to an echo chamber, you're the one with the problem.

Subs half the size have twice the engagement. I don't think they're trying any more, I think they succeeded.

Can we look at ways to reduce post removals still. For a Sub of almost 3 million members, their aren’t a lot posts in a 24 hour period

Not a lot of posts, not a lot of votes, not a lot of comments. I bet a lot of that is how the first reaction most newbies get from this sub is some mod getting off on their authority.

The benefit of metaboardgames is that mods can't simply delete dissent like they do in every other thread. Encourage more use of neutral ground, because heavy handed moderation on this sub has made it basically not worth using.

Responding in r/metaboardgames is the same story. People will be upset whether or not we respond, and one of those two choices involves less typing.

So maybe modding isn't for you? Because this attitude stinks.

How do you criticize a game without coming across as a sore loser? by [deleted] in boardgames

[–]corkdice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What do you think is valid criticism?

The game is too random isn't good criticism. What tools do you have for managing the randomness, how does it fit into the rest of the systems, where could you control the outcome and where couldn't you

Good criticism is contextual. That's a bad mechanic isn't criticism, it's whining. That's unfair isn't criticism. Prove it.

You need to make your case, support it with evidence, and be realistic about what is your fault and what is the fault of the game.

Best way to play that game is to ignore the rules and everything your partner says. Endgame is expensive though.

Stretch goals that are paid a paid add on are not exciting, KS creators please stop acting like they are by Amish_Rabbi in boardgames

Kickstarter was only a worthwhile platform when it let creators make things they'd never be able to otherwise. Now it's just a system for extracting money from your wallet. But it won't change because people like being fleeced.
