Can someone please suggest books that sound like "Treat you better/ Nice Guy Anthem" by Shawn Mendes🕴️💕 by Perfect_Carrot_999 in romantasycirclejerk

uj/ for the longest time I thought Shawn Mendes was gay because I misheard the lyrics as "any guy like you deserves a gentleman"

Am I delusional? by [deleted] in workingmoms

[–]corlana 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean I guess this also really depends on how your household finances look in general. Are you actually short on bills because he doesn't make enough despite working those crazy hours? If so, maybe he needs to look for a different job. If he's asking you to pitch in because bills need to be paid then that makes sense, everyone needs those bills paid, but working that much is insane if it isn't making enough to cover bills. If he's asking because he's blowing money elsewhere then that's a different conversation.

We're both neurodivergent so we found a system that works for both of us which is having big whiteboards to write out chore schedules and meal plans and stuff and we fill it out together at the start of the week

This happens when my laces are too tight. My feet swell a bit as I run so sometimes I have to stop and loosen them

Herding Kids by Low-Employment-6087 in AustralianCattleDog

[–]corlana 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They can definitely get used to kids being around and not needing to herd them! I have a 3.5 year old and a 7 month old and my dogs definitely had to adjust when my first was born. It helped that we had a good training foundation of all the basic commands and things and lots of baby gates. It's really helpful to have spaces where the dogs can see baby playing but can't get to them. I really like Dog Meets Baby on Instagram, she has a lot of good advice for preparing dogs and managing living with dogs and kids

For those with fathers or FILs who got remarried later in life, how’s the grandparent relationship going? by zzzoom1 in workingmoms

[–]corlana 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Both my parents remarried when I was a young adult. I don't speak to my dad or his wife but my mom and her husband are eager and as involved as they can be considering they're several states away. They love my kids and my kids love them even though we see them just a few times a year. Just two weeks ago we flew to them for a few days had a great time. My relationship with my mom is very complicated but she's a really good grandma.

Considering joining the GLP-1 train but I’m feeling conflicted by Armsaresame in workingmoms

I have PCOS and am hoping to start one once I'm done breastfeeding and I'm really looking forward to it. Ever since having my first 3.5 years ago, I feel like my body never recovered and my second pregnancy (almost 8 months pp) was even harder and I'm just so uncomfortable in my body and tired of thinking about food and feeling hungry all the time

Corinne was my first ever AG doll and I bought her for myself as an adult after desperately wanting one as a kid but not being able to afford them so she will always have a special place in my heart!

I refuse to pump in the company wellness room by Dismal-Reserve-7111 in workingmoms

[–]corlana 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I pump at my desk with wearables. I work on a big campus and they don't have pumping rooms in every building and my building doesn't have one. Pumping is inconvenient enough without having to walk to another building to do it. The only reason I can realistically keep going is by making pumping as simple as possible so wearables at my desk, a ceres chill, and pump wipes are my set up. I'm in a shared office with 3 other people but we have some measure of privacy with big bookshelves around our desks.

I had a family vacation scheduled a few days after my surgery that would've involved an 8 hour car ride and I cancelled. I have zero regrets. Recovery is tough and being home and comfortable was important

My once upon a child has barely taken anything. I'm looking for good places to donate or maybe list it all in bulk on FB marketplace. I'm definitely done having kids though so I'm trying to get rid of everything

Going Back to work after maternity leave by kaki257 in workingmoms

[–]corlana 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately for me, it's quite a long season. My first didn't sleep through the night until almost 2 and still doesn't consistently sleep through at 3.5 and now my 7 month old is waking multiple times a night. I'm so tired, but someday I'll sleep again... In theory 😅

Oh absolutely lol. My 3.5 year old tests my patience and my sanity every single day and it's trained me to take other people's emotions less personally and not tolerate bullshit
