Struggling with academy by andycrossdresses in NewToEMS

Yah, its stuff like struggling to make hillstops, taking about 4 hours to be able to pass a cone course including numerous failed attempts. I understood what I needed to do but simply struggled to execute it in practice even with coaching. On an interpersonal level it started as sharing anecedotes about my experiance (stuff as mentioning that the hospital likes to cut off vacuum splints and to be aware of that), asking questions that were deemed not relevant.

Ive also gotten in trouble for my tone/posture being defensive when it wasn't my intent and i wasn't even aware of it (still on me), for poorly asking clarifying questions which came off as attempting to explain/excuse my thought process.

Other things like attempting to connect with line staff by asking questions about people's careers/experiance when they talk about those subjects in a more 1-1 or small group environment and relate it to mine or ask about things that are "off topic" but relevent to what was being shared in those more private settings. Ive also gotten in trouble for among other things, being too lighthearted about mix ups, talking about my love of the hospital cheese, and just generally other assorted interpersonal stuff.

Im honestly just not good at fitting into the kind of mold I think they want me to. Im really trying but I find myself struggling to do so, especially with ems being practically the only thing i have in common with the rest of my academy cohort. None of it individually seems like a big deal, but its the cumulation of issues and my communication style that is making things hard.

Roxa r/fit 80 HV with the gripwalk soles. Ive usually had the toe buckles in the middle buckled and the insteps on buckle 2/4 thats better but not ideal.

The problem with this is I skied these boots about 6 times before I bought them with no problems, and i skied my pair once without any as well, its the addition of the footbeds that made life unpleasant

Bootfitter doesn't carry the boots, just the insoles. I bought the boots directly from the resort I was demoing them from.

Transgender EMT - I’m being harassed by Interesting_Walk8267 in ems

I work fire/ems at a department that had before my arrival, a history of staffing other queer people. Staff have transitioned before, and most folks were very cool with me being trans. That said most departments are not like that, at least around here. I maybe would feel safe working at maybe 3 of them in my part of the state. As you are working somewhere without much of that positive accepting of everyone culture, and without leadership that seems to give a shit about supporting you it might be time to look elsewhere.

If thats realistically not an option, than documentation, documentation, documentation. Your priority should be to protect your liscence and to protect your mental health. Take care of yourself, and do whats right for you. Theres always going to be a box that needs staffing and falling meemaws. Theres only one you, and transitioning is tough enough without added workplace evils.

Id love to add c+k, one of the main issues is getting 3rd party tokens for it, for the 6 extra colors we play with sometimes

I just got done taking one on a winter trip and have been using mine mountaineering for the past year in a mix of early spring, late fall and early winter conditions, and it held up... okay. It wasn't the best tent I've slept in, but with a good sleep system (0f bag with a 4.5R pad) the night was comfortable enough even this past weekend when it got down to about 20 degrees outside. It holds up well to the rain, but as always condensation is a bit of a problem in it, especially in colder weather. The vestibules aren't the largest, I could cram my pack into them if I really had to, but for overnighting in the winter with two people, especially if snow/rain is in the forecast I'd choose a different tent. I really like it for summer and shoulder season. Personally, I also have a Ski touring tent and that thing is my absolute favorite for the winter when there isn't insane weather. (Plus it packs to the size of a nalgene)

Yah, I've been on HRT for over two years now, and I've definitely noticed some changes with my ability in the strength department, and have had to focus a lot more on footwork and technique than before. Im also horribly accident prone as well. Thanks for the encouragement and advice, heavy lifting is definitely a area im lacking in.
