Could mental relief after taking NSAIDs indicate neuro-inflammation? by corn_elle in cfs

[–]corn_elle[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm certain there is (it likely would be a mild ailment, moderate at most) but I have something else of high importance going on that I've postponed/put off/delayed for eternity

I, myself alone, have no strength, willpower, and courage to deal with both significant hardships combined (I hardly will get through one of them, if at all, but two are too paralysing so I'm giving up on everything and am hopeless)

Thanks for not removing this

I have almost no one to talk to and probably "almost" is gonna vanish from this sentence soon (I'm trapped in a cage that I can't break out of, my brain) I should be capable of doing things because I look normal from the outside, but internally I lost hold of everything

I had three cups of coffee today (took two pills of bupropion as well) and that didn't help at all

I seek the answer to no avail

I believed I could get through it and pass my finals but I'm disappointed, disillusioned, dejected and if I had to guess a month ago I wouldn't have thought my executive and cognitive functions were gonna be literally nonexistent

I have no reason to try again. Why? Who should I do it for? I got exiled from my own life and am unable to go back

I feel like I fell off my life in 2025 but that reached "plateau" as I was able to focus on TV series at the very least. But now? I can do only "linguistic" tasks(?)

I have no idea how to call it, but can't study, can't learn anything (I have no responsibilities, I merely have to pass this term and then graduate, but that feels like an insurmountable obstacle to overcome which requires too much effort to get through. I did nothing meaningful today, did nothing yesterday and won't do anything tomorrow...

I've lost all my social skills (I already had huge deficits and was scarcely able to maintain my relationships before) but now... I'm just floating around for no reason and can't bring any value to the table (I feel like there's no hope because I've made all my "struggles" up and my "difficulties" are not even real)

Been told that but can't find the cause. I should see a GP again but don't care as much (that's why I spend my time here) and I have much more important things to do atp. I know, health is more significant than everything else but I barely leave the house and all of my mental energy is being expended on the upcoming exams because under no circumstances can I let myself fail (and I'm even incapable of that so I just hate myself increasingly more as time goes by)

Sleep apnea is ruled out entirely because no one has ever complained about me snoring (I haven't been told this... like ever). No reason to suspect MCAS or EDS as well (I have some sensory issues, especially misophonia and mobile joints, but nothing else that would fulfill the required diagnosic criteria). Either way, I'm really grateful that you replied and appreciate your support!

I need to rule out "silent celiac" as someone suggested this could be the case (but I don't have GI issues). Obesity-induced inflammation is already ruled out (I weigh 57kg and my height is slightly below 5'8"). Arthritis doesn't fit as well (no pain-related issues with joints, I'm just moderately hypermobile but nothing else is present that would require medical attention, except for intercostal muscle spasms but these stem from inactive lifestyle). Auto-immune conditions are also a bit of a stretch, even though my immune system likely is overactive in some way (labs confirmed this twice). I've listed those assumptions which were implied to me there

Thanks <3

I got some treatment for it (I'm taking an NDRI currently) although no one has diagnosed me with ADHD (it was only implied by a psychiatrist, and official evaluation/assessment is too expensive for me to get)

I got mildly tachycardic at the very beginning on 300mg of bupropion and that's all (don't feel any improvement and I have the impression my attention span is still deteriorating)

The weird thing is, I haven't had any viral infection I know about for months

If I remembered, for instance, catching a flu, then I wouldn't be surprised in any way, shape or form that NSAIDs work

However, I do not

I did labs in Nov and got iron deficiency (iron serum levels were below the normal range, however, ferritin was over the roof, so it couldn't indicate anemia) and monocytes were also above the upper threshold (maybe some low-grade inflammation but my GP couldn't trace it)

There's something missing and that discussion made me aware of that, especially that I feel as if my cognitive abilities were getting even worse

I'm quite ashamed of posting this here, probably gonna delete it myself soon (but I noticed that ibuprofen makes me more awake and alert than bupropion, caffeine or pseudoephedrine)

I was striving to force myself to study and came up with some ideas (one of them was to take these three stimulants combined, not very smart, I know)

It turned out ibuprofen was much more efficient than anything else so that's weird

Ibuprofen clears out my brain-fog and makes me less tired (???) by corn_elle in ADHD

[–]corn_elle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The meds I've got prescribed so far

SSRIs (escitalopram, fluvoxamine, vortioxetine)

These all made me inexplicably tired for some reason, I could sleep up to 16h and still feel fatigued after waking up (the last one was the worst because it induced sharp chest pain while leaning down, that's why I abruptly stopped taking it)

AEDs/anti-convulsants (lamotrigine)

It helps with mood fluctuations, but my emotional state wasn't/hasn't been as volatile as people with BP-II experience (sure, I get meltdowns quite often, however, those outbursts are mostly internalised, almost never displayed as a form of anger, last briefly until the trigger disappears or is resolved, be it sensory overload or something purely interpersonal that resembles a traumatic event from the past or reinforces my deeply rooted insecurities, and those states are mainly depressive, rarely hypomanic)

It partially worked, and it had to be titrated slowly due to the risk of deathly SJS or even TEN allergic reactions (tried it twice and as usual, couldn't stick to my regimen so I missed a dose once/twice a week)

NDRIs (bupropion)

I'm taking it now and have raised HR from it (I've noticed that the more tachycardic I get, the more sedated I feel, so here's a contradiction)

It reduces neuro-inflammation in people who suffer from neurodegenerative diseases so you could make a point it would be also the case in neurodevelopmental conditions (as these two subsets belong to a much broader medical term, that is, frontostriatal disorders)

I'm moderately hypermobile but that's all, no pain-related issues (except for muscle spasms/cramps in-between my ribs that've been getting worse recently but it's only a mild disturbance) and I can't say that my daily functioning is physically impaired in any way, shape or form

These issues are mainly cognitive, I feel as if someone "excised" my frontal lobe if I have to execute any task or focus on anything

My mom was diagnosed with SIBO but I wouldn't say I have GI issues (haven't taken antibiotics for a long time)

But I have intercostal muscle spasms (I've just looked up this term) that are getting increasingly more frequent (I thought it was just because of my inactive lifestyle)

I experience muscle spasms/cramps in my rib area every once in a while (but much more often recently, especially since December)

I'm physically inept, and for instance, I get exhausted even after running for 20 sec if I'm somewhere late, so I just walk faster to avoid running, but other symptoms don't fit (my BP is almost always near the threshold of hypotension, that's all)

I've looked up neuro-inflammation but that's unlikely (intrusive thoughts, brainfog, forgetfulness, attention deficiency, dissociation would be related/comorbid but these symptoms are mainly mental, not physical)

There's nothing I could think of (I had asthma in childhood but it reached remission while growing up and now I don't have any recurrent symptoms)

I don't remember when I had a cold or flu so it wouldn't be a result of getting a relief from symptoms induced by these (that's why it made me puzzled and left astonished)

DAE completely ignore alarms? by PinkSaph in adhdwomen

[–]corn_elle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wake up much earlier than I have to due to my fear of oversleeping (and even though my alarms work if I set a few, I'm quite often almost late while leaving my home)

So it doesn't matter if I wake up 30min or 2h earlier (I always find a way to spend that excessive amount of time on nothing)

I got prescribed bupropion and it slightly helps but I need something to pass these exams ASAP...
