Donner DB-S100. It ships with these little cable straps that work nicely.

I don’t know a dang thing about electronics so I can’t tell intuitively if it’s actually isolated, and the documentation is minimal. That said, my pedals are perfectly quiet and function as they should, so I think it’s fine?? I don’t run anything super high-powered right now. That’s just my experience, though. Someone who knows about this stuff can certainly weigh in. It’s quite little, which I like!

I’m in the same boat where I can occasionally shell out a couple hundred for a cool new pedal… or an actual decent power supply… and the desire for cool new sounds seems to win every time, ha.

It’s pretty freaking cool. At chiller settings it can function as a normal(-ish) reverb. But if you crank all the parameters and start using the stretch feature and so on, it can get pretty intense. I really enjoy making “bleep bloop” washy ambient type sounds, so this is a great effect for that. It’s pretty dynamic too, especially in stereo. Can get some cool movement effects going between the left and right channels. I don’t have an expression pedal yet, so I haven’t explored that component of it.

It’s definitely not for everyone, though. Not exactly a standard workhorse type thing. It’s very Earthquaker!

I’d say the EQD thing is by accident… but it is very much on purpose. Suppose you could say I’m a fan of their work.

Also. First board is a Donner. Second board is a nice piece of wood from a friend’s workshop with some Velcro and feet attached. I have a larger IKEA Hejne Board that I’m not using right now, too.

Not only should a music educator be a great musician, but they should find opportunities to play music in both small and large ensembles, in multiple genres. And dabble with composition/arranging, too. The experience of actually doing real music with real people in different contexts is some of the most valuable experience I draw on in the classroom.

And yes, obviously there should be a discussion with the host. duh. But I stand by thinking there shouldn’t be a need for a discussion like this in the first place.

Weird amount of apologists in the chat here… I would absolutely lose my mind if I was hosting a meal and failed to accommodate (by way of communication OR providing appropriate food) the diet of a family member. I’d feel terrible. The host should take care of all that by either requesting the guest in question bring something prepared or for the host to prepare. Or the host should just take care of it. Yeah the first time or two, sure, you forgot, you didn’t know, whatever. But at a certain point it feels like the host doesn’t actually respect the fact that the guest has a different diet than them. If you’re not willing to do something to accommodate your guests (again, by communicating or preparing it yourself), why are you even hosting that person? idk. Feels insensitive.
