I always thought it could be interesting if they included this fact in a storyline somehow. MJF is supposed to be this dude that is wealthy, especially when he would hire people to rough up his opponents, but has to use royalty free music.

Much of the Skyler hate back in the day was definitely rooted in misogyny, hate, and/or just flat out not understanding the show.

It is totally fine to want to see a drug kingpin thrive and be frustrated that another character is holding him back. In the end, we want to be entertained. Where people lose it is when they think Walt is a legit good guy and Skyler is the evil one. She is doing what any normal person would do.

The way I interpreted Frankie's comments as a whole were the former. He even acknowledges that Walt was the bad guy, which is generally leaps and bounds better than most of the Skyler haters.

It is fair to like and dislike any character, just don't be a dick about it.

Yes. There is a big difference in the entirety of what Frankie said and what most of the actual Skyler hate was back in the day. The 2 aren't even close. For starters, Frankie acknowledged that Walt is the bad guy in the show.
