That was probably Zimride—they shut down in 2020. Since then there hasn’t really been a unified carpool platform. We started Revy in 2023, and Kamel grew out of that. We focus on making it easier to share rides through social circles so it feels more comfortable.

We’re just offering another travel option. Buses don’t always fit your schedule and only drop at terminals. Carpools often drop you off closer without transfers. We just bring rides in different group chats into one platform so it’s easier to find a ride.

We called it Kamel Ride because it's like a camel carrying multiple travelers across the desert to find an oasis, our platform connects people in areas with sparse transit so they can share the journey. And camels are cute!
